Choosing a tent for camping

When choosing a tent, it is good to think about a few questions that will help you choose the right tent.
In what conditions will the tent be used?

What number of people to choose?

If you want a tent without a hall only with a covered entrance, it is advisable to buy a tent with one extra place, because you can then put large backpacks in the tent and leave dirty shoes in the smaller covered entrance. If you want a tent with a hall, it is advisable to consider whether it would not be advantageous to buy a tent with one extra place, because you can have important equipment right in the tent at hand, when you are already in a sleeping bag. You will appreciate more space in the tent in bad weather, when you have to spend more time in the tent and it is not always worth building the hall, for example, because of the small space or surface for mooring.

Other decisive factors:
Uncovered porch or entrance tent?
The cover entrance increases storage space, better vents tent in the rain.
Stan has to have two entrances and one entrance?
Two entrances appreciate a larger number of people, porches increase storage space, porches can suddenly open in the rain for better ventilation of the tent.
Tent has to have a hall or not?
Foyer increases the storage space that is used for storing shoes and wet items, backpacks. In the hall you can also cook but with caution.

What design tent?

Today's offer rods consists of fiberglass rods, steel, and possibly dularových composite alloy-carbon-kevler (expedition tents). Fiberglass rods are less expensive option and are used for summer camps in tents. Aluminium tubes are durable and built to last, therefore they are used for hiking tents for outdoorovové activities. Steel pipes are used for family tents.

How big a water column?

Water column of the tent or as the material is resistant to the pressure of water penetration. At the tent we have two water columns, namely the water column at the tropics (water column of the outer tent) and the water column of the floor (water column of the inner tent). The water column of the tropics should reach min. 1500 mm for a summer tent for camping, which is already a sufficient value against soaking. Tourist tent (outdoor) should have a tropico of min. 3000 mm.
The water column of the tent floor (water column of the inner tent) should be min. 5000 mm for a summer tent for camping. The value of the tourist tent should be around 10 mm, where a longer stay in the dry is guaranteed in case of heavy rains.

What color is the tent?

You can choose from dark colors (green, dark red) or light colors. We recommend darker colors for tourist tents and for camping tents, because it does not attract various insects, the attention of other tourists, not every dirt can be seen and the tents dry faster in the sun. The disadvantage is that in sunny weather it is warmer in tents, but who spends a sunny day in a tent? For expedition tents or when camping in the snow, it is advisable to have a tent made of lighter colors.
