The local part of the village Štrba at the highest station in Slovakia, 4 km north of Štrba.
Its history began in r.1880. Initially, the residents Tatranské Štrba concentrated around railway stations, housing estates with their 11 apartment buildings, public facilities and hotels are seated in the 70 and 80's, which had a close relationship with the acting Championship World Ski Championships in 1970.

Features (2499 and 2503 m)
Heavy, but probably the most popular hike primarily due to the beautiful views from the top. The journey is quite comfortable, stretch over 'Frogs balls locked chains, however, is problematic due to the large number of tourists passing in both directions. Caution should be exercised crossing snowfield above Chatou Rysmi below.
Krivan (2494 m)
Heavy tour, which is an unforgettable experience. The most challenging section is under saddle and Daxnerovým below the peak.
Sharp, short and Krivan from Furkotského Shield
Trips are most often used as the starting point for the former Kpt. Rasa (also Važecká chata). From here we go first through the forest, from the very beginning we rise rather steeply. After about one hour of traveling, we reach the branch (marked by the information table) to the place where the guerrilla bunker was standing at the time of the Slovak National Uprising. Turning back and returning to the sidewalk takes only a few minutes. We continue to climb, cross the small meadow, the path is still winding through the woods, but it soon begins to thin and we come to the border of the forest and the greenery to Grúnik.
The mountain pine climb several other serpentines. We get into a formidable Krivánskeho gutters, the path leads under flexure comb, the opposite slope of the trough consists Pavlov back in it lying little Krivan (2334 m). At the crossroads under a small green sign Kriváňom ends and connects to the blue, Jamského leading from the lake. First, climb the small Krivan and then we get into the saddle between Little Daxnerova Kriváň and Kriváň. From here you can see beautifully colored Krivánske Green Mountain Lake (2012 m), view them on some peaks. All we need then just overcome several tens of meters final and we can enjoy a round view from the highest peak of Mount Kriváò Tatras "summit".
Krivan is the westernmost peak in the High Tatras, so all the other lies to the east of us. From the left we see eg Gross crest, shield Koprovský (2363 m), Mengusovská shields, lamb (2229 m) and Wheel Shield (2418 m), ice shields, High (2547 m), Lomnický shield (2633 m), no Gerlach, Gerlach Shield (2654 m) and Končistá (2537 m). In the south again, we can see almost the entire ridge of the Low Tatras, West Tatras in the west, dominated Bystrá (2248 m) and to the northwest Red Hills.
On the way back again through Daxnerovo saddle and Small Kriváň get to the crossroads of green and blue signs. We meet on the blue slope of Little Mount Kriváò wide stone walkway. This journey is relatively uneventful, and therefore it is suitable for rapid descent; over an hour leads to open countryside and at an altitude of around 1600 meter plunge into the cage, which quickly replaced the forest. Soon we come to Tatranská artery at Jamského lake. This small, but pleasant-looking lake between the trees, limbo and kneeling, offers the opportunity to relax.
From Highway leads slightly downhill back to the Tri Studnicky or we can meet at Strbske Pleso.
Waterfall Jump (1730 m)
Very pleasant, easy hike, with an elevation of less than 400 meters. The terrain gradually rises, no steep or otherwise dangerous places. Unpleasant can be much frozen snow and especially ice on the road.
Description
First, it avoids the Štrbské pleso the yellow trail to the junction with the main road, then the path turns left and continues for about ten minutes between the hotel sports complex snow. The left side is dominated by jumps next to them then ski lifts and cableway to chat under Soliskom (1840 m). After rising modestly and convenient way leads first Mlynická forest valley, then scrub with abundant admixture Tatra limb. Before us the valley dominated Strbske shield.
Almost at the end of this hike, we get beyond the rhododendron zone and reach the frozen Skok waterfall, which rushes from the high rock threshold to the lower floor of the valley after the snow has melted. In summer, the brand leads to the Bystrá lávka.
Sharp Roháč (2088 m) and weeping (2125 m)
Somewhat more challenging hike, comparable to the hikes in the High Tatras, together nastoupáme around 1400 vertical meters. The whole passage ridge is very exposed and secured chains.
Description
From the bus stop and parking at the hotel or Zverovka An original or a pay car park go an hour and a half after the asphalt road Roháčskou valley. We have yet to notice avalanche paths that extend from the left to the road, or to let Rohace lure panorama ridge on the right and in front of us.
At breakfast on the site of the burnt cottage and Ťatliakovy same glacial lake ends red mark labeled green pavement turns sharply to the left. The serpentine is less than three quarters of an hour to climb scrub and soon after become gills in the saddle (Zabratowa Przełęcz), whence we get the first view. Another climb Rakon (Rakon) is still quite comfortable. On top of this we get to the ridge forming the border of Slovakia and Poland. After her then go for about fifteen minutes, nearly level. Then idyll ends and begins a veritable "krpál" on top Volovec (Wołowiec). Along the way, gives us a glimpse of the picturesque Roháčske singing.
In JAMNICKÝ saddle (JAMNICKÝ Przełęcz), which descend from solid Volovec, see below JAMNICKÝ sings and way past them into JAMNICKÝ valley. But we will stay on the main ridge and begin to rise again to the top of Ostrý Roháče. The trail meanders through the rubble, the stones and rocks, just below the summit we had to overcome a rocky terrain very carefully. Fortunately, we can find support in the form of chains, which are at the end of the season 2009 newly added in the entire problematic section. The granite is not suitable dvouvrcholu longer delay, and so we go through another chain along the rocky ridge and down toward the querulous. After enjoying the view north to Roháčské Valley, to the west of the Tri Kopy, miners and Príslop, south to the top of Baranci and east over the ragged and sharp to the High Tatras National Park, it's time to think about the descent.
The return trip includes a first section exposed ridge called Nohavica, which will lead us into Smutny saddle. This part is not as difficult as the top part Ostrý Roháče, but do not underestimate him, especially for low visibility. The Nohavica Unfortunately, more and more "sign" tourists, building dozens or hundreds of music. Smutny of the saddle then just descend into the valley sad. Hincova rejoices (1945 m)

Relatively easy hike with no technical difficulties. Suitable for those who want to climb the peaks and saddles, but would like to enjoy the alpine environment. Beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and peaks of the Tatras.
Description
Initially the route identical to the output features (2503 m). From Strbske Pleso (bus stations, railway stations, parking) on the expressway or from the station also Poprad Tarn on the asphalt road, we come to Poprad Tarn (1494 m). Small diversion (2 minutes from the crossroads) you can do at the cottage Popradskom ball (1500 m), where is the opportunity for refreshment.
From the lake, which lies beneath the slope Ostrvo (1979 m) we follow the blue to Mongusovská Valley to the crossroads behind the waterfall. On the left side we have a ridge with a strong peak Bast Satan (2421 m), on whose slopes are deep avalanche troughs. Continue along the blue trail up Mongusovská Valley. To the right of us with beautiful views of the Features, Heavy Shield (2500 m) and Kopka. After about half an hour to climb a few switchbacks Hincova basin.
To the right of way over the flat bottom basin rises Mengusovská Volovec (2227 m). Before us lies a few miniature lakes (called collectively Hincova eye) between them in a continuous keříčkovitém stand sometimes appears lost or trough Hincova stream. Looking back, in addition to a heavy shield emerges High (2547 m) and Kopka and Blunt (2284 m) and Ostrva with popular saddle. The most significant landmark of this part of the valley is the ridge Megusovských shields Čubriny (2370 m) and Kôprovského shield (2363 m), beneath which lies at an altitude 1944,8 m Hincova Big Lake. The blue trail leads a bit after his bank and the point where the shunts and rises into Vyšný Kôprovského saddle (2180 m), there is a nice view to the left of the neighboring small tarn Hincova (1921 m). Skilled hikers can continue on to the saddle and climb Koprovský shield.
Return is possible the same way, or you can greatly extend the hike over Vyšné Koprovský saddle and descend Hlinská Dill Valley and the Tri Studnicky or Podbanské.
