We spent this week's summer vacation right here, as we took over 9 cottages as part of a group holiday. The cottages pleasantly surprised us. We lived in number 10 (for 3 people) and it is situated as the penultimate in the row furthest from the pub and shared toilets, yet it has a great advantage. It is hidden in the shade for most of the day, so compared to the others, it was a bit more pleasant for us. Water and bathing The water under the cottages offered a pleasant bath, quite surprisingly clean. You have to watch out for the fisherman in front of you. We had to clean the dead fish out of the water, and in the heat it was no honey at all, but it paid off. Beer and something to bite The local pub will offer draft Hubertus (Kácov brewery) for a really beautiful 23, - for a big beer. When you get hungry or have a taste for something good, there is the possibility of fried steak, potato pancakes, fryer, pizza or waffles or popsicles. Showers and toilets Clean and renovated toilets, showers with hot water on a vending machine (10, - / 4 minutes per cycle) are also a plus. Saving water makes sense. Don't worry, you can wash in 4 minutes. Just for some it might be a surprise and these are "fixed" shower heads. Hot water also flows from the sinks, which is nice for morning cleaning. WiFi In the area you will also find Wifi, unfortunately it was hard to come by, the signal in the last cottages was bad and in terms of the connection itself even more pathetic. But we are on vacation, so you will do at least a little detox from modern things. Fishing When it comes to fishing, it wasn't bad in the end. We caught 4 carp in 37 people a week. It's worse with white fish, yet some bream and roaches have caught (counted on the fingers of one hand.) Unfortunately, the predators didn't do well at all. Not even a small fish or ours was abundant that week, there was no response. Appreciation and recreation It was a very pleasant week spent in Slapy by rolling by the water, fishing, drinking beer, evening barbecue or occasional trip (Holy Mountain near Příbram, mining museum, many views in the area such as Smetana's lookout). Pros: + swimming + clean toilet + relatively quiet environment + nice pub with the possibility of something to eat + prices of accommodation and beer Cons: - lousy wifi connection - shower heads fixed (one year old daughter has trouble bathing, but we managed)
