Brdy are mountain ranges stretching more than 70 km (!) southwest of the mother of Prague. In its entire length, they represent a practically uniform belt of forests, some of which have retained the character of the original mixed forests. Although it lies in the very center of the country, Brdy is sometimes an incredibly deserted landscape. In the hills you will not find any tourist centers, hotels, cottage colonies (except for a small part on their northeastern tip), or even inhabited villages and industry at all. If you are more interested in Brdy, then perhaps these pages could bring you some benefits ...
Cycle path built In the footsteps of Czech kings, in the future it should connect all castles and chateaux in the Beroun region with Beroun and Prague.
What sections are already finished?
Beroun - Serbia
The cycle path leads along the Berounka around the Alkazar quarry. The section on which the rest areas are built was popular not only with cyclists, but also with in-line skaters. It leads through the romantic Berounka valley along the rocks through the beautiful nature of the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape Area.
Beroun - Kraluv Dvur
The section leads from the Tax Office around the skate park and along the right bank of the Litavka to the very border with the cadastral territory of Králova Dvůr. Here you will also find a rest area.
Beroun - Nižbor (built within the project For work and education)
The cycle path leads in this direction from the bus station over a new wooden footbridge over the Vrážský stream, continues over the fish pass of the new hydroelectric power plant, then along Na Hrázi Street to the new bridge over the Berounka, which leads cyclists and pedestrians to an area called Na Ptáku.
From here, the cycle path continues along the right bank of the Berounka to Strádonice and Nižbor.
Žebrák - Točník
In the future, the cycle path In the footsteps of the Czech kings could continue from Králové Dvůr along Litavka to Zdice. In 2012, the town of Králův Dvůr wants to apply for a subsidy for the section from Králova Dvůr to Zdice. From Serbia, the cycle path should continue to Karlštejn and Třebán.
