The Golden Path has been connecting the most beautiful and most important places of the Bohemian Paradise for decades. It winds in the total length of 103 km through the countryside from Mladá Boleslav to Jičín, overcomes valleys, rock towns, hills, streams, but also medieval castles and pine forests. Its history dates back to the second half of 19. century after the trip of Vojta Náprstek to Prachovské Rocks, and also thanks to the establishment of the Club of Czech Tourists, when the Bohemian Paradise becomes one of the first places where signs for tourists, prospects, restaurants, etc. are being built.
When Golden trail including a description of its sub-sections first appeared in the publication KČT in 1937, before the war was made a promotional film.
The current Golden Trail has undergone a number of changes compared to the former historical one due to various factors (change in the character of agricultural land after the war, construction of roads, mining of sand, etc.).
