Hořovice is the gateway to the untouched nature of the Brdy forests. Jan Neruda, in one of his feuilletons, called Hořovice "the Czech Bethlehem". The main landmark of the city is a Baroque-Classicist castle, which includes a castle park with the famous sun gate, which is a popular tourist destination.
Hořovice, the second largest and oldest town in the Beroun district, lies southwest of Prague, halfway between Prague and Pilsen, 5 km from the D5 motorway. It is a city with all the infrastructure, including a recognized hospital.
