Surroundings of the resort offer many opportunities to spend free time. Biking or hiking in the brick hills or renowned mushrooming in the same place are just a fraction of them. Excursions to the ruins of Valdek Castle, Žebrák and Točník castles or the chateau in Hořovice, where a permanent exhibition of historical children's toys is installed.

There is a museum in Komárova, which shows the history of the iron ore mining, which was processed in the Komárov foundry not only as a utility product, but also thanks to the hands of the local founders in the artwork.

Water surfaces

Bathing
We highly recommend beautiful evening walks to Záskalská dam and swimming in Dráteník Dam. The Záskalská Dam was built in the years 1956 to 1960 on the Red Creek on the edge of the Brdy Military District. It is mainly used for the accumulation of water for industrial consumption. Another use is to transform flood flows, ensure minimum drainage from the tank and recreation.

The dam is straight, bulk, ground, 110m and 16m heights. The tank volume is 0,74 mil. M3, the breather length is 1km. Záskalská is the only reservoir in Brdy, which is not a water supply and can be used for recreation. The dam is open to the public, hiking and cycling are possible. The basin of the reservoir is predominantly forested.

Approximately 1km under Záskalská is the pond Dráteník, which is also managed by the Vltava River Basin, state enterprise. It is significantly older, built at the turn of 19. and 20. century. They serve mainly for recreational purposes.

Hořovice Chateau

Hořovice
The new chateau in the town of Hořovice is an early Baroque building. The lock was built by 3. quarter 17. century to 1709. In the years 1737-1756 was rebuilt and expanded. Further reconstructions took place before 1839, 1856-1868, at the end of 19. century and 1922. The Sun Gate is famous for its castle park with sculptural decoration from the works of Matyáš Bernard Braun from around 1735.

The new castle had several owners in its history, among which Jan František of Vrbno and Friedrich Wilhelm von Hanau, whose death was lost by the Hořovice branch of the genus and the castle belonged to the state. 1922 won the castle back his great-grandson Henry Schaumburg. After the Second World War, he was nationalized on the basis of Beneš's decrees. The castle is now managed by the Central Bohemia monument.

There is also the so-called Old Chateau in Hořovice in the place of the 13 fortress. century rebuilt Renaissance, which originated in 2. Item 17. century and was modified several times. In the castle there is also a museum of the Komárov Foundry.

Zbiroh Chateau

Zbiroh
Today's castle originated from an original fortified castle, which was founded at the beginning of 13. century. Its founder is Bretislav Zbiroh of the Sulislavci family. In 1230, the message reminds some brothers Chren and Sulislaw of Zbiroh. Later the owners of the castle were the family of Drslavice (Děpolt of Zbiroh), King Přemysl Otakar II., The family of Rožmberk, King Zikmund, the Kolovrats, the Lobkovic family, or the emperor Rudolf II.

In 1868, the businessman Baron Bethel bought it Henry Strousberg, who in the years 1869 to 1870 rebuilt the chateau in a neo-renaissance style according to the design of architect August Orth. In 1879 after Strousberg's bankruptcy, an empty lock was bought by Colloredo-Mansfeld.

In 1943 1945 to lock the seat of Staff of SS. Then the area became the property of the Czechoslovak state and was used by the military. After 1989 castle town gained Zbiroh, which it sold in 2004 company Gastro Žofin.

Žebrák Castle

Beggar
Žebrák is the ruins of a Gothic castle in the village of Točník on the southern edge of the Křivoklát Forest. The dominant feature of the castle is the high round tower (bergfrit), now used as a lookout tower.

The castle was founded in 2. half of 13. century. Oldřich Zajíc from Valdeka near an important trade route from Prague to Bavaria. Under the rule of John of Luxembourg he became the property of the Czech kings. The great rebuilding and extension of the castle took place during the reign of Charles IV. and his son Wenceslas IV, who often stayed here. After the fire in 1395 gave Václav IV. to build a new Točník castle on the nearby hill, and the importance of Žebrák gradually declined. In 1425, Zebrak was unsuccessfully besieged by Husity. At the end of 15. century, the repair and strengthening of the fortification of the castle was carried out. In 1552, however, Žebrák was already declared desolate. Extensive reconstruction of the castle took place in 80. years 20. century, when the main circular tower was saved and opened.

Točník Castle

Točník
Točník is a castle ruin in the Central Bohemia Region, 2 km north of Žebrák, in Beroun district. The castle was founded by Václav IV.

The actual history of Točník Castle begins at the end of 14. when the king and the Roman Emperor Václav IV built it as a magnificent representative residence. Immediate impulse was apparently the fire of the Lower Castle of the Beast of the Year of 1395. Instead of a difficult rebuild of Zebrak, who, due to his position on a narrow rocky promontory, did not extend much, the monarch had built a larger castle on a larger hill. Besides comfort, he certainly thought of more security because his government was accompanied by numerous conflicts with the estate - 1394 even captured his brother Zikmund's adherents and was imprisoned for a long time in Prague and later in Vienna. The Czech lands, devastated by the plague of 1380, were experiencing a slow retreat from the height of their head, which was won by Vaclav's father, Charles IV, and the Hussite revolution was already on the horizon. Vaclav used to escape from Prague and to resort to his castles in the Křivoklát forest, especially on Křivoklát and later on Žebrák and Točník. In addition to hunting opportunities, Točník was particularly suitable for the proximity of a significant land route from Prague to Nuremberg (today's E50) ...

At Točník Castle you should not miss the bears in the castle moat, and there are also annual events that take place in the summer months almost every weekend in Točník. (janitors, swordsmen, military and indigenous camps, concerts, historical markets, etc.)

Ruins of Valdek

Valdek
Valdek the ruins of a gothic castle from 13. century. In 1346 was besieged by the Thirty Years War is empty. Well-preserved tower, the remains of a Renaissance palace 16. century and val. Below the castle towards the river is the stone field.

Valdek was located on the outskirts of Vince Jince and was therefore inaccessible to the public for a long time. After opening parts of the room, 2007 was enabled in April on weekends. A yellow tourist sign is on the road from Nestin Castle.
