Rokytnice nad Jizerou - Giant Mountains
Welcome to our cute mountain town of Rokytnice nad Jizerou in the highest mountains of the Czech Republic with a magical landmark of Lysá hora and Kotle. Our tourist and sports center can be found in the western corner of the magical Giant Mountains.
The history of the countryside settlement dates back to 1574. It includes four picturesque sections: Upper and Lower Rokytnice, Františkov and Hleďsebe. During its development, it was significantly influenced by the textile and glass industries. Beautiful nature - active and passive holidays or vacations are the main attraction that the village offers today.

Visitor in Rokytnice can choose from several forms accommodations(private privates, pensions, apartments, chalets and cottages and hotels). On his free days he can use our recreation center and try out its rich amenities. Perfectly groomed cross-country trails or slopes await skiing lovers, which are artificially snowed with snow cannons in the event of a lack of snow. Complete care is provided by ski services, ie service of skis for both downhill and cross-country skis, as well as ski rentals, which provide a range of snowboards, downhill and cross-country skis and poles, carvings, jumpers, cross-country boots and overalls. Ski instructors at various ski schools will gladly take care of the ski knowledge of those interested. A special SKIBUS bus, adapted for skiers, goes directly to the ski center. On the downhill in ski resorts Rokytnice 28 lifts and a four-seater cable car to the top of Lysá hora await. The Horní Domky cable car measures 2.198 m and is the second longest in the Czech Republic. We recommend cross-country skiers to try cross-country trails in the U kapličky and Pod Dvoračkami areas with a high-quality white trail.
A visitor who is not a skier can try snowtubing - a very fun ride on inflatable boats in an artificially built snow corridor.
In other months it offers Rokytnice quality tourist activities. There is a network of marked hiking trails for hiking and biking. Within reach are the Huťský waterfall, Studenov, Rezek, Dvoračky, the source of the Elbe and magical panoramas from the ridges of our highest mountains. In addition to hiking, rich experiences can be provided by horseback riding, bowling or bowling, bobsled track, go-karts, tennis courts and climbing. There is a fully equipped sports hall, sauna, for lounging local cable TV.

During the summer, the Krkonoše tourist transport lines enable modified timetables for trips to Harrachov, Špindlerův Mlýn, Pec pod Sněžkou and other attractive destinations. For a travel experience, we recommend trying a rarity - a cog railway (so-called cogwheel) from Kořenov to Harrachov.
The Rokytnice information center and travel agency provide all the necessary information in one, they will provide season tickets for turnstiles, maps, trips to nearby tourist sites with a guide and other services.

Summer in Rokytnice
Adults and children can go hiking and cycling in the mountain landscape from spring to autumn. From our own experience, we can recommend a walk to the Dvoračky mountain hut or to the Hutský waterfall, which can be done with small children, and for more able tourists hikes to the Golden Hill, the source of the Elbe, Sněžná or Kotelní jáma (up to the Golden Hill in the summer season use a shuttle bus).
Winter in Rokytnice
Not far from the apartments there is a ski area with a children's lift, with a lighted piste for night skiing and a piste with artificial snow, which will ensure skiing even in bad snow conditions. You can also use a ski school for children and adults. The Horní Domky area with a cable car, which is 2.198 m long, is intended for the most demanding skiers.
