HISTORY settlement ZLATNÍK
Hundred cottages have their own history. Something of what the story survived, wrote a native Mr. Ulrich rich. You will learn so that Chalupa Goldsmith is one of the oldest of nine cottages, which formed the enclave, which was the center of the mountainous region along the river Mohelnice that in the old tavern on Zlatník sat Petr Bezruc in a cottage opposite the cross that is said to be haunted. Now Goldsmith is part of the municipality Beautiful.
Old pub Goldsmith at Grassy Creek
Already in 1885, the local gamekeeper Petr Foldyna set up a small shop here. In addition to the store, he also had an inn, where he sold liquor, beer and tobacco. Good sales soon had followers and pubs and ferlogues began to open in the area. The Zlatník pub used to be very busy, the first dance parties took place in the village and in the autumn, when it was time for high school hunts, also the drunks of hunters and shooters. In winter, feathers (pluckers) felled here. The poet Petr Bezruč also visited the pub during his wanderings in the Beskydy Mountains, and from discussions with local citizens he drew inspiration for writing ballads (Maryčka Magdonová). Overall, the pub served as a meeting place for citizens. After the end of World War II in 2-1945, soldiers of the retreating army of General Bendery also visited the pub and chose food. They left a couple of long fur coats there, which could then be seen on the local formans. Today, the pub serves as a residential cottage.
Elementary School
The former school is located at the confluence of the Sihelský and Mohelnický streams. It is a timbered cottage against the Passion of the Christ under the hill of the Goddess. A larger room was rented to the village here, where the weaver Josef Chovanec moved in. A new school was built in the village in 1878. Originally a single class with I. II.a III. teaching year. Later for a large number of pupils (about 50 pupils) extended by another class of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth grade. More than two generations of local citizens taught at the school. There are many legends and stories about the school. All the students knew from their parents and older siblings that they were haunted at school. The school had to be consecrated and a priest's gallery established on the ground to ward off spirits. The ghosts were the souls of dead bandits who plundered and plundered in the county, until the locals joined forces and caught the thugs, killed them, and buried them in the place where the school was later. Today it serves as a holiday cottage ISS Hasičská ..
Cottage Jeweler
It is located at the crossroads between Sihly and Vrchní Mohelnice. The original wooden log house was completely reconstructed in the years 2003 - 2004. Due to the fact that it had been uninhabited for several years before, a large part had to be demolished, leaving only the original stone cellar and part of the beam wall. Although it is more of a new building, we tried to preserve the original character of the building so that it fits into the beautiful nature of Beskydy.
