Pension Šohaj and Esterka Winery - accommodation in South Moravia

Our family pension Šohaj is right in the center of Terezín wine cellars. The guesthouse with the capacity of 12 beds directly above the wine cellar will provide you with cozy facilities not only for tasting of our delicious wines but also for your whole vacation. The guest house is open all year round. We offer accommodation in triple and quadruple rooms with extra bed in the form of pull-out beds. Each room has its own bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen. For cyclists we set up a bicycle storage room, with the possibility of service. Possible to rent a large grill. Free access to the wine cellar. We offer managed wine tasting, perhaps with a tour of the historic cellar and vineyards. We will provide refreshments in the form of a cold buffet, a warm dinner and breakfast. There is in our guesthouse own publications with tips for trips around. During the stay is also possible rent a large grill (for a fee).

Esterka Winery

In our viticulture, we apply the principle of quality at the expense of quantity, and therefore reduce yield to the optimum level. Grapes are harvested by hand. White wines are produced by classical methods, then ripen in stainless steel. Reds are created by fermentation in open wooden vats and lying half a year in wooden barrels. The secret of success lies in black clay soils, hard to work, but rewarding with high quality grapes.

At present, we manage a hectare of land. Annual volume of production does not exceed 15 000 bottles, wines are sold mainly from the cellar of private clients. Wines remain due to administrative simplification in the land category.

We offer guided wine tastings, possibly including a tour of the historic cellar and vineyards. We will provide refreshments in the form of a cold banquet, hot dinner and breakfast.

Wine degustation

• We offer managed wine tasting from our own production with expert commentary from the winemaker. Possibility of a tour with the interpretation of our historical cellar in Hovorany.
• Each guest has free access to the wine cellar and a private cubicle with selected samples.
• Before the tasting, we can arrange a warm dinner according to wish, and during the seating there is the possibility to order cold dishes with specialty meat or cheese pies.
