Surroundings

Vranov castle

The dominant of Vranov nad Dyjí is undoubtedly Vranov castle climbing on a rock above the Dyje River and one of the most visited Baroque castles in the Czech Republic. In addition to tours of the historical exposition, the castle also hosts concerts, exhibitions, theater performances and other cultural events. Recently, the castle has also become known for making films and fairy tales.

Vranovská dam

The dominant feature Vranovska is a dam built in the period of the First Republic in the years 1930-1933. The dam and the main dam lake are located about 1 km from the center of Vranov nad Dyjí. The dam lake is a center of recreation and water sports. Windsurfing and yachting enthusiasts will be pleased. The water reservoirs are renowned for the wealth of fish.

National park

The smallest and least known Podyji National Park on territory of the Czech republic. It is a unique natural complex, which, thanks to its location in the former border zone, has preserved almost untouched nature by man. The subject of protection is the natural stretch of the deeply strewn Dyje river between Vranov nad Dyjí and Znojmo. The river valley with a total length of about 42 km is completely uninhabited except for the Austrian town of Hardegg.
