Privat Bohemia is entitled to a cancellation fee, which is determined by the length of time between the cancellation of the stay by the client (decisive is the day when it was delivered in writing) and the first day of stay as follows:

  • in case of cancellation within 60 days before the start: one-time CZK 1
  • in case of cancellation between 60 and 40 days: 50% of the deposit
  • in case of cancellation between 40 days and 14 days: 80% of the deposit
  • in case of cancellation between 14 days and 0 days: deposit non-refundable

Tips for trips

In Šatov and its surroundings you can visit hundreds of wine cellars and taste the local wealth. Wine tastings with refreshments are held here every year, as well as the Znojmo Vintage and Burčák Fest.

For cyclists for whom dozens of sporting events are held every year in Šatov and the surrounding areaThere are dozens of bike paths that run through the beautiful and untouched landscape of the Dyje region and lead all the way to Austria. The biggest cycling experience is the annual Vinařská 50, which runs through Austria and starts directly in Šatov. On our website you will also find more detailed information about these events and a map of cycling routes.

Cycling and hiking

The surroundings of Šatov offer a wide range of cycling circuits and routes with different levels of technical and physical demands. Families with smaller children will use the cycling routes around Šatov. The Moravian Wine Route begins in Znojmo and ends in Uherské Hradiště. The international Greenways Prague - Vienna international cycle route did not escape nearby Znojmo either. Thus, really everyone can go cycling in Šatov and its surroundings.
 
The Podyjí National Park with seventy-five kilometers of hiking and cycling trails is also an ideal place for hiking. The Visitor Center of the Podyjí National Park Administration is located in Čížov, which is open during the season (April, May, September, October on weekends) and daily during June, July and August. The resort also provides information on tourist attractions in the Czech and Austrian Podyjí. On the Austrian side, the most important starting point is the town of Hardegg.

 

Painted cellar in Šatov

A beautiful painted cellar, which is decorated with paintings by folk artist Maxmillian Appeltauer. This wine cellar is located on a sandstone slope in Šatov. Although this cellar is known as a wine cellar, wine has never been stored or produced in it. Probably from the very beginning, this cellar was supposed to have functional private wine bars and be a place of pleasant sitting. Thanks to the excellent wine from the vineyards in Šatov and its surroundings and also the perfect acoustics, it is pleasant all year round in any weather. as if surrounded. There are lounges in the cellar, which had a different purpose. Each of them is decorated with fantastic plastic paintings drawn by Maxmillian Appeltauer, who was born directly in Šatov. He dedicated not only his entire art to this cellar, but also his whole life, as he worked here every day for 36 years and was not stopped even by an injury from the Second World War when he lost his hand. Today, his art and his passion, engraved in a sandstone cellar, come to admire tourists from all over Europe and overseas. A visit to the cellar is not only an ideal trip for families with children, but also a pleasant place to sit, where you can buy several vintage wines.

 

Šobes vineyards in the Podyjí National Park

One of the oldest and probably the best vineyards in European wine-growing locations - Šobes is located in the deep valley of the Dyje on the slopes of a storage promontory in the heart of the Podyjí National Park. Thanks to the ideal location of the vineyard on a sunny slope, which is protected from the northeast and northwest against winds and also due to the altitude, Šobeské wine achieves excellent properties. Even the river Dyje, which flows around, the difference in temperature during the day and night, but also the acidic clay on the gneiss surface, which absorbs the sun's heat during the day and radiates it at night, contributes to the overall success. The microclimate around Šobes resembles the valley of the French Rhone. This vineyard was allegedly founded by ancient Roman legionaries. Šobes is the icing on the cake among wine destinations. It would be an eternal mistake to visit Znojmo without seeing Šobes.

 

Bítov Castle - a unique collection of stuffed dogs

One of the oldest castles in our country stands on a rocky promontory surrounded on three sides by the Želetavka River, which has protected the southern border of the Czech state since the 11th century. Bítov, which today is reflected in the waters of the Vranov dam, was rebuilt several times, most recently during the 19th century by the family of the Counts of Daun. At that time, a romantic neo-Gothic mansion was created with charming interiors, decorated with a unique collection of illusory paintings. The bizarre charm of Bítov is completed by numerous collections of stuffed animals - a reminder of the collecting activities of the last owner, Baron Jiří Haas and his famous zoo, one of the largest private zoos on the continent. The most sought after is the collection of fifty stuffed dogs of various breeds, the largest of its kind in the world, recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. In addition to the zoo with many small mammals and birds of prey, families with children will also appreciate the exhibition of castle, forest and water ghosts in the basement of the castle brewery. The tourist offer is complemented by the famous wine cellar of the Lords of Lichtenburg.
