Our tip for a small trip

The quarry at Mariánské mlýn, also known as Na Janičově vrchu, is a deserted and flooded limestone quarry near Mikulov na Moravě behind the Holy Hill, in the protected landscape area of Pálava. This place represents the most beautiful natural swimming pool in Pálava. The water is crystal clear here thanks to the limestone. The beach is rocky, followed by a few meters long shallow shallow, which suddenly passes in deep depth. The place reminds not only the appearance but also the climate of the rocky Croatian beach. Local fossils can be found in fossils.

Chateau Mikulov

Liechtenstein in 1560 Castle sold to Ladislav Kereczenyi, who began the reconstruction of the castle at the baroque castle. When 1575 became the new owners of the Ditrichštejn Castle, they continued with extensive reconstructions that culminated in Franz of Ditrichstein. In 1719 the castle was burned down. However, it was renewed again and served until the year of 1945 to the needs of the Ditrichstein.

Today's appearance has been gained by the castle during extensive reconstruction from the middle of 19. century in a style imitating English Tudor Gothic. The reconstruction of the original Renaissance castle from 16 took place. century, around which was already a large garden. An important modification has passed the lock at the end of 17. the Baroque period was modified according to the plans of the important Italian architect Domenico Martinelli and Jan Bernard Fischer of Erlach. The chateau building is very richly neo-gothic decorated.

Chateau Valtice

Originally a Gothic castle from 13. century was rebuilt into a Renaissance and later Baroque chateau. To date, it was rebuilt in 1643-1730 years by projects by Italian builder D. Martinelli and Johann Bernhard Fischer of Erlach. The chateau consists of a three-storey four-winged building with stables, a riding hall, a gallery, a Rococo theater and a carriage house. From the Renaissance period, two corner towers have been preserved, from which the low side wings lead to an honorable courtyard with the main building.

John Castle

Jan's Castle is a pseudo-gothic imitation of the castle ruins (according to the period of Romanticism), built in the year 1801-1808 for prince Jan I. of Liechtenstein (the name "John's Castle", Hansenburg, Johann (e) sburg, Janisburg. The project was undertaken by JL Hardtmuth, the architect and inventor of a pencil (he founded a pencil box in Vienna in 1790), which had previously also designed a nearby minaret.

Alois I of Liechtenstein built the tower. It was built in 1797-1802 years, and the cost was supposed to have climbed to one million golds, probably the architect Joseph Hardtmuth was likely to take a large sum. The construction was carried out under complicated conditions on a muddy soft subsoil and so the oak wood grate and pilots were used to secure the foundations. The tower was built in Moorish style, and Arab artists were most likely to be decorated with it.

Rendez-vous is the national natural monument ev. No. 1450 east of the village of Valtice in the Břeclav district. The area is administered by the Pálava PLA Administration.

Temple of Apollo

The temple is situated on the hill (220 m) on the bank of the Mill Pond, near the road connecting the towns of Lednice and Břeclav (parking opposite Apollo camp). A marked tourist route connecting the towns of Lednice and Valtice leads around the temple, at about 1,5 km there is a railway stop "Lednice rybníky" (Line 247 Břeclav - Lednice)

Three Graces

At Three Graces, it is especially interesting that there are in fact no graces. The sculpture depicts the trio of ancient goddesses: Athén, Aphrodite and Artemis. Besides the initial letter of the name, they have a common light smile and plump figures. They would not stand on today's parade, but against their "rivals" from the brush of Patrick Paul Rubens are very exuberant. The sculpture was carved out of a single boulder by Leopold Fischer and originally adorned the castle park in Lednice.

Chateau Břeclav

Originally, the castle was built by the prince Bretislav I., from which the domain was given its name. The castle served as one of the administrative centers of the principality of medieval Moravia, which later became one of the manor settlements. Later, the Přemyslid castle, Nový and Stará Břeclav, was acquired by the Zerotins, who had the castle 1. half of 16. century rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. Ladislav Velen of Žerotín (1589-1622) for his participation in the uprising after the year of 1618 about the Břeclav estate came.

Every day we prepare a varied menu cooked from fresh ingredients.
