SKI AREAL ČESKÝ JIŘETÍN
Right in the village there is a ski resort with three ski slopes and four ski lifts.
For experienced skiers and snowboarders, it can offer the "Čerťák" ski slope - a kilometer-long slope with an anchor, which guarantees sufficient capacity. If you get up and be on the lift at nine o'clock, prepare your feet so that by eleven the slope will be yours alone. Then it's time for the first grog in the buffet ...
For families with children and beginners, the complex of lifts "U kostela" will be more suitable. There is a 7-m ski slope with a steeper top hang and a more gradual finish. In its more straight part there is a children's nursery serviced by nice towers, where 100%, that your child will learn to ride on a lift during several attempts. In addition, the ski slope is equipped with snowmaking, so don't worry about the lack of snow! Buffet and seating is commonplace.
You can move the traverse to the "Mlejnky" ski slope, where you will find a home-like atmosphere of a small lift. It is almost a rule that if other lines form queues, on a five hundred-meter slope at Mlejnky you ride without waiting.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
There are several cross-country ski areas in the surroundings of the Old Toy Shop. Some of them are available without a car. We can recommend running tracks in Seiffen in the German part of the Ore Mountains, which are about 15 kilometers away. You can choose from four circuits (2, 5, 10, 20 km). Whatever the weather, these circuits are always perfectly prepared for both classics and skating.
As a circuit for cross-country skiers who like to enjoy, the German side of the Erzgebirge offers a route along the old railroad, ending with a stylish pub converted from an old railway station. This route is available a kilometer from the guesthouse.
On the Czech side, you can use only the weekend trails of the field, which leads around the frozen dam. Better cross-country skiers make the dam private running tracks during tough winters, try it too!
If you are treading on the marked trails, go on snowshoes into the terrain! Walk through the snowy meadows without much difficulty and admire places where the human foot will not step in the winter! Snowshoes are available at our guesthouse.
SNOW KITTING
At 20 kilometers from Český Jiřetín there is a renowned snowkit spot around the village of Moldava. On the vast plateaus of Moldava you will find both rugged terrain for long flights and unpleasant plains suitable for freeride and freestyle training. In addition, the spot lies above all the other hills, so there is no shortage of wind in any wind direction.
