The first open-air museum in Czechoslovakia (opened in 1925) presents visitors with the typical Wallachian architecture and lifestyle of the old Wallachians. Every year, the museum hosts fairs, all-day demonstrations of traditional crafts, carnival and Easter customs, demonstrations of laundry, pottery or blacksmith's days, meetings of carvers, Christmas carols and other festivities. all age categories of visitors. You can admire the folk architecture, the skill of the Wallachian population, bakery products, crafts, Wallachian folk dances in traditional costumes, pets at the cottages and the picturesque landscape. Pustevny and Radhost
The legendary mountain Radhošť, rising above Rožnov to a height of 1129 meters, is famous for its statue of the god Radegast by Albín Polášek and the chapel of Cyril and Methodius. The hermitages, from which the ridge trail to Radhošť leads, are known for the typical buildings of architects Dušan Jurkovič Maměnek and Libušín. At a distance of 0,5 km from Libušín and Maměnka there is the Cyrilka lookout tower, from which there is a beautiful view of the surrounding peaks and with clear visibility to Lysá hora (1 m above sea level). , it is 324 km from the Cyrilka lookout tower. The statue was carved in 0,7 by Albín Polášek, a native of Frenštát. Here you can relax, refresh yourself with pure beer from the mountains and then continue towards the chapel of St. Cyril and Methodius, which lies at the top of Radhošť (1930 m above sea level). The top of Radhošť is 1 km away from the statue of the god Radegast and offers a magnificent view of the wooden chapel of St. Cyril and Methodius with a group of preachers, which is also the work of sculptor Albín Polášek from Frenštát.
Climate of Beskydy influenced by their location in the middle of Europe, where the continental and oceanic climates collide. Thanks to its heavy rainfall, the Beskydy Mountains are one of the areas with the richest snow cover. The annual entertainment is the construction of snow sculptures in Pustevny and a pilgrimage in Radhošť. Rožnov pod Radhoštěm also has a stadium with an artificial ice surface.
