Zlín and the surrounding area boast a number of valuable natural sites, concentrated mainly in the nature parks of Želechovické paseky, Hostýnské vrchy and Vizovické vrchy. Lovers of nature and exotic animals will surely appreciate the visit to the unique zoo in Zlín. The nature trails, but also the sights of Zlín and the surrounding area will make a dense network of cycle paths and marked footpaths.
Most probably Zlinsko became famous for the modern functionalist architecture. Before the Second World War, a unique urban complex emerged in Zlín and Otrokovice, the symbol of which was the Zlín skyscraper. From the older monuments we can mention Lukov Castle Ruins, Malenovice Castle, Lešná Chateaux and Vizovice, Church in Tečovice, Pilgrimage Church in Štípa or Mikuláštíkovo Fojtství in Jasenná.
Zlín is the cultural center of the region, you can visit the Museum of South-East Moravia and the Shoe Museum. The Regional Art Gallery, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra and the Municipal Theater together with the Little Stage also feature. The cultural events of the region are very varied, including the theatrical festival, the classical music festival, the festival of films for children and youth and the folk festivities.
The possibilities for a pleasant holiday are complemented by a number of well-equipped sports facilities, a spa in Kostelec with a golf course or a health trail in the Zlín forests. Winter holidays can be enjoyed on slopes or cross-country skiing in Hostýnské and Vizovické vrchy.
