About the city of Jindřichův Hradec

 

Near the church in this town there is a plaque marking the 15th meridian east of Greenwich, so Jindřichův Hradec has absolutely accurate Central European time. On Náměstí Míru, there are burgher houses with Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist gables, as well as the Town Hall, and in the middle of the square you will find the Baroque statue of St. Trinity. Church of St. John the Baptist with a former Minorite monastery is decorated with a set of Gothic wall paintings, which are among the most important in the Czech lands. Today's Jindřichův Hradec, with its history, cultural and historical monuments and the panorama of the castle and chateau above two ponds, is one of the most beautiful Czech cities. The newly built guesthouse for max.12 persons is situated on the outskirts of Suchdol, on the site of the former pizzerna. It was designed to preserve the character and layout of the former building that had been around since 1654 until the 1950s.
