The town of Bechyně

Nearby is the spa town of Bechyně, which has many attractions. Historical sights include a chateau, a monastery, and two churches. Bechyně boasts a newly renovated square. It is worth mentioning the reinforced concrete bridge Duha or the railway line Tábor - Bechyně. In the summer months you can visit the outdoor swimming pool.

Reinforced concrete bridge DUHA over the river Lužnice

Bechyně Bridge Rainbow is a unique reinforced concrete arch bridge over the river Lužnice on the eastern edge of Bechyně. It is a combined bridge for road and rail traffic, followed by road number 122 (Týn nad Vltavou - Bechyně - Opařany) and the Tábor – Bechyně railway electric railway. 

Tábor railway line - Bechyně

The Bechyně Railway is the work of the well-known electrical engineer and inventor František Křižík. On June 1, 1903, the first test drive took place. Until the construction of the bridge (the so-called "Bechyně rainbow") in 1928, the line ended on the left bank of the Lužnice, after the completion of the bridge, it was extended to the city, to the current railway station. Bechyňka remains in operation to this day, in the summer season popular nostalgic rides take place here.

Ruins of Dobronice Castle

Dobronice is a castle ruin located on the outskirts of the village Dobronice near Bechyně about 7 kilometers from Bechyně in the district of Tábor. It rises above the river Lužnice. The stone castle was built around 1320. The red-marked tourist trail Tábor - Bechyně leads around the castle. In the season, the well-preserved castle tower is accessible and various attractions for tourists take place in the castle grounds.

Stádlecký bridge

The Stádlec Bridge over the Lužnice has stood under the town of Stádlec since 1975 and is the last surviving Empire-style chain bridge in the Czech Republic. Originally, in the years 1848–1960, it spanned the Vltava near Podolsk. In 1959, it was declared a national technical monument as the Podolský Bridge. In the years 1960–1975 it was dismantled and moved to its current location on the Lužnice.
