Pension Barbakán is located in the historical center of the town, overlooking the castle and the river lining the city park. The building of the pension was originally part of the city walls and served as a military fortification. The building of the pension is newly reconstructed and provides accommodation in rooms - 5x double standard, 2x double delux, 1x triple delux, which overlooks the Vltava River and picturesque corners of Cesky Krumlov.)
The building with two buildings was built on several levels on a slope above the Vltava River. The Baroque - Classicist facade follows the receding arc of the Horní Street line.
Monumental walls of bastion character are visible from the Vltava River and the vacant hole called Mouse Hole. At the level of Horní Street it is a two-storey building with a classicist triangular gable ending with volutes.
Both buildings have the same shielding typology, and the entrance to the courtyard is visible between the buildings. In recent years the building has been completely renovated, with modern dormer windows in the roof.
