The journey from Croatia or to help and protect in practice

As I wrote, on our way to Croatia, we chose our destination Central Dalmatia, specifically Kaštel Štafilić on the Trogir Riviera. It is a small town, perhaps more of a village between the famous seaside resorts of Trogir and Split. Due to the small distance from these places, I definitely recommend visiting them, although it is true that they are very "full" in the summer season. And no wonder, because Trogir with its historic core, which lies on a small island between the mainland and the island of Ciovo, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This part was created gradually in the period of the 13th - 15th century. But the original settlement, called Tragurin, was founded in the 3rd century BC

Kaštel Štafilić, together with six other municipalities, which have Kaštel in their name, are part of the administrative unit of Kaštela. Kaštel Štafilić is named after the founder, the nobleman Stjepan Stafile from Trogir. He had the fortress, currently known as the Rotundo, built in 1508 on a sea cliff connected to the mainland by a movable bridge. 

But enough about history. From the apartment Lebedina, where we were staying, because under stan We didn't want to, we only had a three minute walk, so great. The sea was crystal clear, the pebble beach for the fact that we were on holiday in the season was not crowded, so we had plenty of time to laze. And when we had done enough, we took a trip to Trogir and Split. Almost every night we went to one of the nice restaurants for a local specialty, but we did not despise even ordinary pizza. We just had what we wanted.

The walks along the local promenade along the coast were also very nice. Because the weather was good for us throughout our vacation, we did not miss a walk in the evening. So we combined pleasant with useful, because after a good dinner there was a bit of movement in place. And I could also show some of mine T-shirts and shorts, which I took with me more than enough (at least in the opinion of my husband).

I must say that even a holiday in Croatia did not disappoint us even after years. We didn't even want to go home much after ten days. But there was nothing we could do when our holiday time was approaching, we packed up, said goodbye to the housewife and set off.

Everything went quite well, we avoided the gas station, where my Tatra anabasis originated from the beginning of the journey, with a big bend. Well, when we arrived in Prague after midnight, we were convinced that nothing could surprise us anymore. But how wrong we were! The police stopped us at a turn off the highway. The documentary check was followed by the necessary breathing into an alcohol detector, which was fine. But after the policeman went to the back escort and came back asking what we could tell him about the technical check, we both just gasped.

When we found out that we had a pinched date 6/2017 on the red sticker, we really seriously tried to convince the police that another technical one would be waiting for us in two years, ie in June 2019. Somehow we didn't realize (maybe we didn't want to admit) that The marked date means that we had to be on the technical site more than a year ago.

The moment I realized this, I was hot, because it was clear to me what kind of trouble we could get into if we were involved in an accident abroad. On the other hand, I was glad that I enjoyed my vacation in foolish ignorance, when I was XNUMX% convinced that we were all right.

So, we actually helped police control (from the two thousand crowns we had to pay) and also saved us (from potential trouble if we had something without a technical one). On our own skin, we know what it means to help and protect!
