Like almost every trip, even this year's "Dušičky" we couldn't wait for a few weeks. We needed to go beyond everyday life like salt. My daughter, our new dog Zagi and I set off from Košice with a caravan on Friday morning (we didn't go to school or robots :). We had just made a fleeting plan, and that was to meet friends somewhere at Plitvice Lakes in the evening, whoever came first would find a spot for the night, we would spend a day or two in Plitvice and then move somewhere to the sea according to taste and weather. Map of route: Košice, Slovakia - Baška, Croatia (823 km)
We only arrived in Plitvice with a couple of minutes' difference with our friends. On a paid parking lot belonging to the National Park we were told that about 2 km from there is a free campground, where we can camp freely. But until morning it turned out that camping freely here means paying 10 eur / person per night on a meadow.
Although we go to Croatia "like home", maybe in 20 years on a frequency several times a year, we have so far successfully avoided Plitvice. We felt that there must be an awful lot of people there in the summer. It turned out that we weren't wrong - now it was nice, but when we saw the large-capacity parking lot, hotels, cafeterias, shuttle service, etc., we agreed that it must be bad enough in the summer, and that we don't avoid it for no reason.
By the evening we enjoyed Plitvice full of sips and in the evening we set out in the direction - Crikvenica. The Internet told us we should find an open camp - but this time Google has disappointed us, the camp has been closed and we are camping right in the port on the promenade.
In the summer, they would throw us out of here in a few minutes, but we did not interfere with anyone after the season. We had the same experience a year ago in Rovinj - we were also baking at the harbor from 2-3 days in the harbor and it was very pleasant and practical at the same time. First you have a jump to the city, and you live in connection with the life of the harbor - small boats, home and local fishermen come and go, from which it is possible to buy a symbolic price for a piece of their catfish and to ride it and enjoy the caravan.
We enjoyed 2 days and then we went to see our favorite island of Krk, Baška. Here we found an open one dear, small campsite with the distinctive name "Mali".
The campsite was clean, cozy and quiet, from time to time, the last autumnal runners came and went. Here we stayed the remaining 2 days we spent walking through the sea, hiking and swimming and grilling.
Of course We have they did not miss ani evening visit cemetery, which like most Croatian je placed na majestic place, s breathtaking overlooking the sea a with unrepeatable atmosphere.
Last day we are already jen packed, they say goodbye for this season s sea a returned back to ours obligations do lavice a k working tables ...
