Experience from the campsite Naherholung Parchauer See - Saxony-Anhalt

All articles_button

The camp we will focus on today is the German camp Naherholung Parchauer See, located on the river Elbe in Saxony-Anhalt. Camping Naherholung Parchauer See is situated in a really beautiful environment of a large pine forest, which is located on the local lake Parchauer See. The nearest large city is the historic city of Burg bei Magdeburg, which has about 24 inhabitants. The city is less than eight kilometers away from the camp. Information signs lead to the camp, but it took us a while to finally find the camp.

First impressions of the camp

The camp is located in a very quiet location in the middle of beautiful and peaceful nature. Everywhere you look, there is a dense pine forest. Here you can spend peaceful days in symbiosis with unspoiled nature. The camp gives the impression of old communist times and times. Most of the buildings are really very outdated and remember the times of the communist German Democratic Republic. However, when you are in the bosom of beautiful and peaceful nature, it does not seem so important to you. The added value of the camp is also its size, there is really a lot of space in the pine forest, but most of the camp is occupied by a long-term clientele of German caravanists, who have their place rented here for a long time. wink

Camp Equipment

The camp has one sanitary room, in which there is a small kitchen. The sanitary room is obsolete, but it is still functioning. However, the camp had nice wooden benches and tables, above which a large tent pavilion was lined. A part of the camp is a natural lakewhere you can swim or throw a fishing rod and catch fish. However, the lake is surrounded by a fence with a gate, from which you will receive a key at the reception. There is also a small playground for children. You can also play table tennis and volleyball here. Extensive forests and fields invite you to go hiking, cycling and running.

Accommodation options

The camp offers accommodation for carpenters and caravans. In addition, there are camping barrels that are more recent. Up to four people can sleep in each barrel and also sit at a table.

Camp suitable for dogs

I noticed that the camp warmly welcomes especially four-legged pets. There is also a separate playground for dogs. Yes

Excursions around

The surroundings of the campsite can offer a charming landscape. This is the characteristic "Havelsche Mark" floodplain, which is situated on the Elbe. Extensive pine forests are framed by the nearest town Parchauer See, which is nothing special or interesting. Much more interesting is the historic town of Burg bei Magdeburg, which I recommend to visit by bike. The city has a well-preserved historic core and there are medieval churches and many towers. While walking through the city, I recommend visiting the interesting statue of Roland with the statue. Although the town is called Burg, which means castle in German, the local name surprisingly comes from the Slavic word bor, which means coniferous forest. Burg bei Magdeburg used to have the largest shoe factory in Europe and was the first to produce great crispbread in Germany. Otherwise, German bread is really tasty and great, which you recommend to buy especially in some local bakery. It's worth it and it will last you a long time.

Final evaluation

The camp is really very peaceful and quiet, which I personally like. Elbe Bicycle Trail is an area attraction. However, the sanitary system is considerably undersized. A nice swimming pond is right on the campsite, but you must pick up the key at the reception. There are plenty of places to camp, however, you will not find many quality grass places here, many places are quite bumpy. smiley

  • enough wooden benches and tables
  • quiet, without noise and noise
  • idyllic environment of pine forest
