When the historically first fire signal of the Celtic Telegraph from Velká Javořina in Moravia was sent in March 2010, 13 of its habitats formed an almost straight line on the map of our republic, which ended at Děčínský Sněžník. Regeneration magazine, which breathed life into the event, wrote: “At the vernal equinox, we will try to reconstruct the unique way in which Celtic tribes communicated with each other throughout Europe, from anywhere to the far reaches of their then world. If you want, you can be there too. Precisely for that famous feeling of "a drop of Celtic blood" in us, the inhabitants of the Czech Basin and Moravia, it is important not only to study the Celts and their culture, but also to try to experience it. "
Today, the Celtic Telegraph is a very popular social event. Always on the first Saturday of spring, people on the hills of our republic rise to receive and then send a message about the arrival of spring. The whole family, friends, large groups of children come to welcome the spring. The map of the sites is dotted with points all over the country and beyond its borders in Slovakia. For each point, the time is always given when a signal is expected to be received and transmitted on which hill. People are waiting for the fires to sing by singing, rituals, music, often with the sound of shamanic drums, or just talking. The atmosphere is full of expectations and always cheerful.
This year's Celtic Telegraph will take place on Saturday 23. March. Let's go this unique way together with the others to welcome the spring to one of our hills. Meeting info here: Celtic Telegraph - Meeting
