Reviews of the German campsite Azur Camping Regensburg

All articles_button

I visited Camp Azur almost at the end of my cycling trip through Bavaria, Germany. And I wanted to keep the beautiful city of Regensburg, or Regensburg in Czech, at the almost complete end of my journey. I had my reasons for doing so, one of them was that Regensburg is probably the most beautiful city in Bavaria. And the second reason is the proximity of the border with the Czech Republic, because you can drive from Regensburg to the Czech Republic in one to two days.

Location of the campsite

The Azur-Campingpark Regensburg is a short walk from the Danube River, which is important for cyclists, as most bike paths run along major rivers, including the Danube. First impressions of the camp are always associated with looking for a place for a tent and the construction of the tent itself. Here I found out that the campsite usually has a sandy surface, which is always a bit of a problem for building a tent, because the pegs do not hold firmly in the ground. Yes. Otherwise, the camp is quite abundantly lined with large trees, so I'm my tent placed under a large tree, which gave the tent a beneficial shade during the day. In addition to places for tents and caravans, it is possible to stay in small cottages that have an attractive barrel shape wink. This wooden barrel has a heated double bed with storage space and a practical pull-out table.

Description camp

Campsite Azur is large enough, the total number of places to camp is about 200. The nice thing is that the camp is only a hundred meters away from the public transport stop, so if you want to leave the camp to Regensburg by bus, then it is convenient wink. Otherwise, the camp has sixteen washbasins, nineteen washbasins, fourteen showers and twenty-three toilets. All showers and toilets were excellently clean and fully functional. You can also use a washing machine and even a clothes dryer to wash your belongings. There is also a smaller kitchen in the camp, which I immediately used to prepare a healthy dinner. cool

Problem with wi-fi connection?

The only damage in the whole stay was the wifi connection. On none of my smartphones did I manage to connect to both open and password-protected wifi networks, even though my password was written on paper. Damage. . angel

Sports and food

For swimming lovers it is here big natural lake, which is only 200 meters away from the camp. The Danube River flows right next to the campsite, so you can also take beautiful walks around the river. The Danube is definitely worth it. About three hundred meters from the camp is the public swimming pool Westbad, which has indoor and outdoor pools. Admission here for three hours costs 6,20 euros, for the whole day 8 euros. Inside the water park there is also a beautiful sauna, where it is a pleasure to relax and unwind. You can then dine in the nearby restaurants, which serve traditional Bavarian cuisine wink. There is also a snack bar and a small market on site.

Excursions around the camp

The main attraction is, of course, a visit to the magnificent historic city of Regensburg, which is one of the most beautiful Bavarian cities. The historic city center is three and a half kilometers away from the camp. I liked the stone bridge, which was built in the 12th century, the most in this beautiful historic town. It reminded me a lot of Charles Bridge, although Charles Bridge is much more ornate and beautiful than the one in Regensburg, yet it is a remarkable monument, which at one time was one of the most important buildings in Europe. Another historical monument that fascinated me here was the building of the Old Town Hall, which has stood in the same place in Regensburg since the 13th century. I have respect and admiration for these old buildings, because they are a silent witness to many happy and sad events that have certainly taken place here in abundance in the past. Otherwise, you will not miss the town hall building, as it has a tall tower and a striking yellow facade. As part of the tours of the Old Town Hall, you can also visit the beautiful Imperial Hall and the Old Torture Chamber, which is located in the cellars of the town hall. There is also a tourist information center where you can get free maps and other useful information leaflets about the city.

  • kitchen, snack bar and mini market in the camp area
