In one of the previous articles, I have advised you where to go sledding in the Austrian Alps. Not everyone goes for a winter holiday to this mountain range. So if you are going to spend your winter holidays in Bohemia, but enjoy the alpine entertainment, read the following lines. Try skiing in our westernmost mountain range - the Ore Mountains. In addition to being great skiing here, you are literally on the border line with Germany. And that has other benefits. In December 2018 merged the Neklid ski resort with the famous Klínovec resort, creating a giant center with 34 km of slopes. You can add to them another 10 km in the Fichtelberg - Oberwiesenthal Saxony. Under the former highest mountain of former East Germany, there is not only a modern ski center, but also a modified toboggan run from 1210 m high.

Since Oberwiesenthal is only about 2 km behind the CZ border, you can easily get here from any of the Krušné Mountains, and it is literally "Beech" from God's Dar.

And how do you get to start the toboggan run? The first option is to go to the city and leave the car at one of the parking lots. The second one is to go right past the former Czech customs house to the left and drive up to the top of Fichgtelberg mountain. There is also a large car park, hotel, restaurant and there are also ski lifts and cable cars. If you take advantage of this parking option, which is similar to the car park in the valley approx. 2-3 eur / day, you can just sitout on a sleigh and enjoy an adventure.

The toboggan run - Rodelbahn starts right behind the hotel behind the parking lot and measures almost 2 km. After a light start, a sharper passage follows, where they already get the soles of your braking boots. Then you will come to the spruce forest and several serpentines, you will get to the middle of the track, where you will find a rarity that we have not seen on other tracks. At this point the track interrupts the roadblocks and warning signs. Here you have to dismount and convert the red slopes with the sledge. Carefully, as you cross the road, you will run over the ski track and you can get back to the toboggan. The biggest adrenaline is the passing of turns at higher speeds, which usually ends with the overturning of the sleigh and the whole crew behind the laughter of other riders. It should be added that this toboggan run is really safe, there are no rocks around it, no rocks and sharp ravines, so be careful only for other toboggans and trees. Anyway, you do not mess with the helmet at least for children.

A little wilder is just the end, where you go down the forest down the meadow to the snow road behind which there is already a local little busy road. Here you have to take the sled for the strap and move it to the Fichtelberdbahn valley station. The journey is not long or challenging. Although it looks like 500 m, but a good half of them are mirroring another downhill through a wide meadow.

Below you have to wait for the old cabin cable car, which runs in the pair from Fichtelberg and in the season is very busy. It only depends on how many rides you can handle, how much time you'll fill with riding, or relaxing with bratwurst and coffee.
