Situation at border crossings - residential area in the direction of the Balkans

All articles_button

We have been traveling around the Balkans for almost a month. Our journey began as soon as the borders opened and because the situation changes every day and maybe someone is going to set off, I will describe what it looks like at the borders we have crossed so far. I note that we set off only thanks to information from people from various travel groups, because if I had to stick to the information from our MINISTRY abroad, I would still be sitting at home planning an unplanned trip. Italy and Spain, which were reportedly hardest hit, are safe but Bulgaria and Montenegro have become risky overnight. surprise

Transition from Slovakia to Hungary through the Shahs is completely open and no one will stop you there, so free passage as in the days before the madness with Covid.

Transition from Hungary to Serbia at Subotica approx. 50 cars, delay 20min. Total peace of mind for this transition. Check completely normal. Where are we going or taking something and whether we have a green card. Nobody solves Covid.

Transition from Serbia to Bulgaria near the town of Zaječar completely empty. We were the only two cars. The Serbs had coffee time so they kept us waiting for 15 minutes, but after a standard check passage on the Bulgar side. Here we wrote a form that we were informed how to behave about Covid and we could go. Neither the lady we passed it on nor the customs officers had veils. This was the only crossing all our way where Covid was mentioned.

Transition from Bulgaria to Macedonia completely empty. We were the only vehicle. Standard check without veils on the Bulgarian side, on the Macedonian side when she saw that we were a family and just wished them a happy journey.

Transition from Macedonia to Albania at Ohrid, again a single vehicle and again a completely smooth standard inspection. From where to where, green card and happy journey ...Yes

Transition from Albania to Kosovo it was a problem, but not because of Covid, but because of the stamp in the passport that the active customs wanted to give us and they would not let us into Serbia. In the end, she let herself be teased and didn't give up. cool

The transition from Kosovo to Serbia did not take place to what extent the absence of the Kosovo stamp did not help either. These are not borders for Serbs, I don't understand what they control there. We had a month-old stamp that we had left Serbia for Bulgaria, and therefore we could not enter through a non-existent crossing. Detour 340km through Macedonia.

Kosovo crossing to Macedonia absolutely no problems, they also asked us if we wanted a stamp in the passport.

Macedonia's transition to Serbia is a standard problem on the Serbian side where they are able to disassemble you half the car during the inspection. Fortunately, we passed without an inspection.

Transition of Serbia to Romania without the slightest problems. Nice customs officer on the Serbian and Romanian side of the Danube. From where to where and a happy journey.

Transition of Romania to Hungary seamlessly. Three cars in front of us and the question of whether we liked in Bulgaria. No corridor or map of places where we can stop. No sticker, just transit. Even so, I can't imagine how they would control it because there is no control at the Slovak crossing in Šahy.

In Serbia people behave around Covid similarly to Slovakia. Cities are not full of people, but it is not "martial law" like in Skopje. There is a dead city and everyone you meet has a veil. In Bulgaria, I felt that they did not know what Covid was until I entered Lidl, where you must have a veil. I haven't seen anyone's veil in Albania yet. At 30 degrees, they would still suffocate before Covid killed them.cheeky In Romania, Covid solves only in Lidl. The people of Banate are living their lives and Covid is not affected.

I talked about the situation with the people in each of the countries mentioned, whose tourism feeds, and everyone perceives it as pure nonsense that will deprive them of their livelihood. Personally, I do not miss the crowds at all and I enjoy the peace and freedom of parking spaces and lying on the beach, but I feel sorry for these people. sad

If I'm a life gambler for you, then know that I have come into closer contact as a 2m with about twenty people as far as I do not move on public beaches, but in deserted places where there are no crowds even when Covid was not here. There is no one here now. We still do not sleep in crowded hotels and apartments in Croatia, but in hidden places where again I do not even come into contact with people. I know, according to society, just such a group of people is the most risky. Here's a little taste of what risk we actually took.wink

I understand. Uncontrolled movement is a huge risk to society.

Because people like to be trampled on personal freedoms, we have to get used to the situation that they will test us after returning from abroad and soon after every visit to the toilet. OK, let them test me, but I won't be intimidated. The test eventually showed that we are all miraculously healthy.cheeky

With what they want to live and experience, I wish you a happy journey and the test result after returning as we have. Yes
