The motivation of this trip was to combine recreational cycling with a visit to beautiful mountain places. While wandering around Turcom, we discovered a pleasant village with an atmosphere of folk history, culture and architecture. In the distinctive village called Blatnica, we were interested in Blatnica Castle, but also in the nice folk houses with the original Turkish architecture. Nature completed the magical atmosphere of this place. The crossing of the village itself was impressive for me, but we were headed for the Gader Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Great Fatra.
As soon as we got out of the car, preparing for the bike tour, we were greeted by a resident of Blatnice - a goat that probably came from an evangelical rectory because we parked near the evangelical church. The bell ring on the neck fits perfectly into the traditional, folk character that this village is proud of.

After a short drive through the village, we arrived at the beginning of the Gader Valley, where visitors like to rent e-bikes or e-bikes. As this valley is about 18 km long, it is suitable to use a bike or scooter for a lively trip, but we also found enthusiasts of running and hiking. At the beginning of the valley, a turquoise-clear lake located in the Nations Park stands out, where a few people seeking peace in nature have found refuge. However, this park was only a pleasant start to a several-hour cycling tour.
The maintained asphalt carpet ensures a smooth ride through the valley, where we could admire the monumental parallel walls, stretching across the Gaderské stream. The symbiosis of mountain flora and stream flowing through the valley creates a perfect place for recreational activities. Thanks to the gentle climb, this place is also suitable for recreational cyclists who like undemanding routes. That is why there were many families with children and many older travelers.
As the valley rises, the environment becomes a kind of fairy-tale. The gurgling stream washes away the rock gorge and forms into cascades, the road narrows and the rock formations and nooks approach. The Gader valley ends and the mouths of the valleys branch into the Dedošova valley and the Selenec valley, where we found the culmination our bike trip - The devil's gate. It is a fascinating rock formation, which consists of two high and massive rock gorges, which are so close together that they create a natural backdrop to the gate.
Behind the Devil's Gate, the road continues to the Padva Nature Reserve, where access for the general public is already prohibited. In addition to the Devil's Silence, it is possible to meet, for example, damn dangerous large beasts, such as the brown bear. We were lucky and we did not meet any beast. However, the trip was interesting and accurately captured our needs to go into nature and enjoy the atmosphere that prevails there ...
