If you want to go cycling in South Moravia this year, I recommend an easy trip from Veselí nad Moravou to Prušánky. This trip will take you through the beautiful landscape of southeastern Moravia, which is slightly bordered by the White Carpathians, long meadows and picturesque floodplain forests ..
The length of the trip is 41 kilometers
The Veselí nad Moravou - Prušánky cycle route measures 43 kilometers and leads mostly along district roads, however, here and there you can use short sections of well-marked cycle paths. You drive along the entire route along the plain, so it is an undemanding path suitable for trekking or road bikes.
Point of interest along the route Dolní Bojanovice
When I drove this route several times, I was always interested in the village of Dolní Bojanovice, which is a large wine-growing South Moravian village with about 2860 inhabitants. When you go to Dolní Bojanovice by bike, you will notice several oil rigs (oil is still being mined around Hodonín) and large underground gas storage facilities. In the vicinity of Dolní Bojanovice, however, there are mainly these vineyards, where the vines thrive. The village also intersects a well-marked local bike path with a bicycle route Podluží, so there is a really large number of cyclists. I recommend a short tour of Dolní Bojanovice. Of particular note is the historic homestead with the descriptive number 217, which is a beautiful monument of local folk architecture. On this folk homestead is the most beautiful painted žudro, which is a nice vaulted annex, which was widely used in Moravian Slovakia at the entrances to houses and wine cellars.
Destination Prušánky - Nechory
The destination of the trip for me was Prušánky - Nechory, which is another picturesque wine village, which consists of a large number of wine cellars. You will find about 450 wine cellars here, so those who come here by bicycle should definitely spend the night here. Nechory is otherwise part of the village Prušánky.
It is a typical wine village, located in the middle of the road between the large former district towns of Hodonín and Břeclav. Nechory is reserved only for wine. No one lives here permanently, and all the painted buildings serve only one purpose, namely the production of sparkling wine, which is offered to you by many local winemakers. I stayed here myself and in the evening I tasted white and red, so I slept here like in cotton.
If you would like to stay here, I enclose some tips for accommodation.
- Accommodation in Bára Břeclav, Czech Republic (550 meters from the center)
- Sklep U Matousku (1,5 km from the center)
- Penzion Starý dvůr (880 m from the center)
