Where to go in Liptov in summer with a caravan, bike or on foot

All articles_button

Liptov is beautiful and there is a huge variety of activities. I live here from birth and try to give some tips for those who are coming here. Hiking is what attracts most people here, so I'll start it. There are many nice hiking trails around Ružomberok. I will mention the ones I have usually attended with my family, so I know that recreational tourists can handle them. Better my advice does not need because they have Great Fatra already run. All the tracks recorded in detail can be found at the bottom of the map so I won't describe it in detail. Just click on the route. You can also find links for more information on points.

Get fucked is a hill that is located directly above the town of Ruzomberok and from its top is a beautiful view of our stinking city. Leonard managed this route at his own age, even though he has 7,5 km with 688m. You can finish the trail in Koliba Likava, where you can prepare delicious gnocchi when you are in Liptov. To whom it will be little can go straight to the ruins of Likava Castle, which you will see from the colib. From here you can walk through the meadows to Martinček and along the ridge to hill Mnich from where you look at Ruzomberok from another side. This second part has 9km and 150m elevation. Surely divide your children into two days.

Ruzomberok

Directly from Ruzomberok is worth mentioning two routes towards Malino. One is the route the bear is the way I have already mentioned in the winter tips. It starts in Hrabovo where, besides the bottom station of the cable car, there is also a dam on which you can groan in the summer or enjoy a zipline over the dam. Zipline is part of a rope park, which is divided into a children's and adult part, so everyone here will come. The route has 10km and 400m elevation.

The second more beautiful route for me is the route through Calvary, either around Sidorov or the more challenging ridge of Sidorov. Please note that there is quite a lot of bears in the vicinity of Ruzomberok and the chance that you will meet him here is quite high. The more challenging Sidorova ridge has 12,5km and 520m.

When you are in Ružomberok, Velký Choč is a compulsory ride for tourists. I recommend starting in Valašská Dubová and going down Choč down to Lúčok where you can enjoy a dip in hot water pools or a pleasant sauna after a hike. Who will be too hot for hot water can use the cold lake under Lučanský waterfall, which is definitely worth a stop. The route has 14km and 1350m elevation. To my surprise, I don't have any nice pictures of summer Choca. We usually come here in winter. And when I was there in the summer it was mostly foggy.

Not far from Lúčok there are Kalameny where there is a natural pond with warm water and leads from here a hiking trail to Liptov Castle. They are basically just the remains of the castle and I was not very excited about this route because we got lost there. Our route was 14km and 1200m cant, but as I mentioned we wandered.

On the other hand, there is a very nice route from the Prosiecka Valley where you can climb the chains and ladders through the water of the stream, which cuts into the rocks and creates nice scenery. The route back and forth if you do not want to do it as a circuit through Kvačianska valley has about 18km and 400m elevation.

The side Kvačianska valley ends at the historic mills, which are completely renovated and I definitely recommend visiting this place. On the way back you can stop at Rybárna "Na háku" where you can first catch the fish you want to eat yourself. Great experience for kids. Afterwards, you can take a dip in Sielnický Bay, where there is also a beer buffet. The route there and back from Kvačiany is 9km and an elevation gain of 760m.

Very nice even though the route to Šíp is a bit more difficult. Up starts to rise from the village Stankovany and I do not recommend to go short if you do not want to climb as a chamois. Anyway, the view from under the cross that is located above and is visible from the road from Zilina is worth it. The route has 11,5km and 940m elevation.

When you are at Smrekovice where is a nice wellness by the way, you have to go to the ridge towards Malino Brdo. From Smrekovice it is very nice even on the fable as you mostly ride down the hill. Of course, on Smrekovice, you must first walk out of Bodega and it is a nice horse. The ridge, but it stands. If you do not dare to rent an electric bike at the station Zápalkáreň where the train Korýtko will take you directly from the train station in Ružomberok. He drives every hour for symbolic money during the summer. If you have your own bike you will be taken away for free. It is cool on the electricity, just do not detonate the flashlight in the direction of Smrekovice because you will need it on the ridge. :-) The route from RK via Smrekovice and Malino back has 38km with 1534m elevation. So I got to the paths for the stuntmen.

I have already mentioned the comb and since I personally do not like asphalt, I will recall a few routes that are not primarily asphalt.

You can get to the Korytnica cycling trail from the orphanage to the train, which can take you to the matchmaker. Korytnica is a former spa town where time has stopped and everything is in a bad condition, although it is growing a bit thanks to the bike trail. Anyway, the bike trail is nice and runs along the Revúca River, after which the boys from Liptovactive. Of course, only if there is enough water, otherwise they will take you to Váh, where at least there is no risk of turning over into Revúcej ice water in the spring. The whole route back and forth has 50km and 350m elevation.

The route through Liptovská Lúžna and Partizánská Ľupča is more or less on the asphalt, although in places with very poor asphalt, so do not go down the road bike. At the end of Liptovska Osada through which you will walk is the goth water park where you can swim. Above the floodplain it can be used outside the asphalt around the meanders, where the water curls in the meadow. An interesting place to watch. After climbing up 1100m to the former healing center Železnô you can turn to Magurka if you have enough strength. It's a magical mountain village. At the end of the route you will pass through Bešeňová, where is one of the two largest water parks in Liptov. Gino Paradise. Here you will find everything for the rest and fun of your kids. Toboggans, swimming pools, artificial waves, playgrounds and even diving with the device as a real diver. Here I am having a bit of fun because it is far from real diving. Route me 63km and climb 600m so you get a good deal.

Also, the route led us to the area of Liptovsky Jan, where there is also a park of miniatures, a lookout tower and a number of accommodation capacities that I have not visited yet, so I do not know. What I definitely recommend is Mara camping. We visited him recently for a long weekend and rested here perfectly. The camp is located on the bank of Liptovská Mara since my childhood. It doesn't mean, but nothing has changed here. New sanitary facilities and showers are built here, even though the old ones, which would already have been reconstructed, have remained. Anyway, both new and old were perfectly maintained and the fragrance is very sensitive.

The pebble beach is a lot of tall coniferous trees, leaving plenty of shade for me. For Leonardo, there are bouncy castles, zorb balls on water, boats and trampolines. For the camper at 4eur for the whole day. Trampolines at your own risk even after operation. Can you imagine how many children were running out of energy in the evening. In the adjoining self-service restaurant, everyone chooses for reasonable money. Four baby meals for 2,2eur? What else could you wish for? On Saturday there are discos and on the beach you can rent a boat or pedal boat. For the lazy, there is a possibility to take a cruise ship around Mary. The only thing I can say is a little shade at the places for standing and unorganized stalls, which is still common for Slovak camps.
Abroad, everyone has their own marked parcel, and there is no risk of getting out of the car by the way someone set up a tent before you. In defense, I will say that in the Mara camp they have such a stand even though they are more expensive. The campsite staff is very kind and willing to accommodate. I definitely recommend this campsite as an ideal place for excursions I mentioned above. I visited him for many years and surprised me. We will definitely come here again.

He remembered I am si maybe na half things which is here they give experience and if you are to read when PULL so you Congratulations. Anyway your I invite you to liptov and I wish you get it to u us enjoyed. Use it map, is there many useful information.. wink
