With retro E-wheel to Karolina campsite - 68 km

The first serious challenge for this retro e-bike is here. For reminder, the round has an official 50 km range. My planned Pilsen - Karolina camp has 68 km. I tested it around town and across suburban areas, but the rides took place on asphalt that puts minimal resistance. As part of the test, I drove over the 74 km and the flashlight was still empty. Accordingly, I planned the route to the campsite, just drive as far as possible on the roads and on the paved surface. Unfortunately, unpleasant surprise awaited me in the middle of the trip ..

First stage: Plzeň - Pňovany

I've already completed this journey. It was nice in Hracholusky. Mostly just roads and minimal traffic. I used 50% of the electricity support, which means that we walked half the time. I have this retro bike at home for less than a month and I am already using it for cardio in series. In some sections of the pedal and in others I drive with significant support of electricity. That's how they get their muscles and I also ride.

What kind of cyclist / sportsman am I? I have a sedentary job and most of the time I sit on a PC chair. 1-2 times a week I do some physical activities (cycling, football, etc.), but I'm in the habit of exaggerating, and very often. Let's say that by nature I have explosive energy with a focus on medium load. This means that if I did not do anything on a classic bike after doing such a thing and put on a "fifty", as I know it, I will go full throttle and then I will whine like a puppy for at least a week. . I sit on the Greaser bike more often and after 3 weeks I did not do any "babies", my performance increases and the lost strength and endurance of tendons, joints and muscles returns. In addition, my metabolism has improved. And I also enjoy the ride ...

But back to the trip ... Somewhere around the village of Pňovany, I took a short break, whipped and savored the surrounding nature. A new way started for me this section. I was definitely not going this way and I liked it. Animal nature is to go to the front and not to get into the wheel all the time.

The morning was still under the cloud .. :). My wife, daughter and brother left Pilsen by car. Maybe I'll be the first to reach the campsite. 

From Pňovan unexpectedly through Stříbro

From the village of Pňovany, a trip was planned. Most of the time I went on asphalt, the electric motor used to max 50%. I was so pleased that the torch will last even more on the 15 extra. The situation changed about 5 km behind Pňovany . The trail was to cross the train bridge, which was also lined with a cycle path. Unfortunately, the workers diverted me to Stříbro. From this point to Silver it was 9 km, but through forest trails, where it was all the bump, climb over great stones and the like. Here it is not possible to pull the 28 kilometer bike with your own power and I started actively using electro support. In addition, I decided that the route stretched from 64,5 km to almost 69 km through rough terrain.

Along the way, I passed bunkers that were built in 1937, ie before II. World War II. So I'm taking a break and taking pictures ...

After the rough terrain suitable just for the mountain bike finally I will arrive in Silver. I'll have coffee on the square. The torch showed that I was halfway through the exhausted energy, so I ask the saleswoman if I can charge my bike because they had a plug at the terrace. I unnecessarily explained that it was like charging a cell phone. She just had to call the manager. Then I had to agree with 25.- Kč for about 30 minutes of recharging

The square in Stříbro was nice. But in Pilsen we are nicer ..

From Stříbro to Karolina campsite

So I rested, a little recharged flashlight waiting for me the last 32 km. After difficult terrain it is not Electro bike Greaser mainly the paths and roads were waiting for me. Now the real sports started. I was crazy. The effort to save the flashlight as much as possible was considerable. At times, I felt like I was in a race. Of course I could go slower, but I got a huge hunger. The last passage was uphill and then moreover through forest serpentines. A steep climb appeared in front of me. A flashlight started to fall on me. I wouldn't believe I could step on this without the support of an electric motor. Unfortunately, at the top of this forest hill, I found myself going wrong. At the crossroads I had to go left and it's just down the hill :). Well, nothing, at least I found out that even 28 kg can be pulled in the woods and uphill :). I'll be smarter next time ... maybe

Finally at the campsite

Kemp Karolina on sight. I headed straight for the reception, the pub. Bike looked like a cow, or at least a smaller body. . I spread out on the bench and find that I keep a fish salad in my backpack. So I peeled him like nothing. Then he arrived at the front desk. He immediately gave me instructions that the bicycles were not left in front of the reception and off the terrace. I am glad that he was only interested in this, because at the time he told me from my bike, mud bits were still falling.

I got coffee. They say they make the best coffee far and wide, so I had to try. It was Friday and departure was scheduled for Sunday. During that time, I drank a lot of coffee there. This made the manager wonder if he should change the inscription from: "The best coffee is far-wide" to "Our coffee is no longer far-wide", because I told them there .. And not to mention beer, Chodovar 12-ku, which was awarded the best twelve of the year.

So I go there and wait when my brother arrives with my family. When I found out that it would take them some time, I went to unpack. We were here before 4 years ago and we lived in a mobile home, it was great. Unfortunately, now everything was occupied and we had a cottage. Never mind, because the camps are so big that I parked my Greaser bike there.

The layout of cottages and other free space is well designed. Everybody has their own privacy, but everywhere it is close to the reception.

We were looking forward to quiet evenings, where we will just have a drink and especially barbecue. After all, we grilled all weekend. I was getting a piece from a piece. I started with chicken, skewers and my masterpiece was turkey thigh steaks. One more week at the campsite and I'll go to Polreich to show him how to do it.

My brother had one, two or 4-5 beers that night. However, with the comment that if Chodovar is really good, he will not have a headache the next day. Well, I'm glad he voluntarily decided to test the beer. But no kidding, that beer is really good. I tested it too. Because I stick to the motto: "He who doesn't drink with me, gets drunk against me" . Last time I saw my wife drink alcohol before 2 years ago. Chodovar also gave us to the camp even though she was definitely against me in her case. Later that same evening: From my group I left the pub last. I'm going to the cottage, everywhere dark, so I'm going to bed. Then I tripped over something. So I turn on the light and my old one was lying on the floor beside the bed . Now everything was clear. She did not stomach with me, nor against me, but against myself. Ps If I don't write another article, it means that my wife read this.

And what in the camp

During the weekend we managed to make a hiking trip to the flooded quarry - Pavlovice, eat a few delicacies in the camp, drink all the coffee and half of the beer, play ping-pong and what is important, besides our daughter there were many children in the camp. So they played together and I only heard about her when she was hungry or wanted to go to bed.

Getting home, impressions of a trip to the Karolina camp

On the way back I put myself in the body. That is why the journey took me less than expected for 45 minutes. This time I was avoiding the MTB forest trails. Asphalt. The Greaser bike is simply a city bike that belongs to the bike path and the road.

After this trip, I know one thing for sure. My retro bike is built on the road and asphalt, and I will arrange it on other Road trips accordingly. Now I will have a few weeks to go and I will go through various interesting places in the vicinity (up to 25 km) for recreation, so that I can really enjoy the rides. However, the trip to Carolina was nice. The calm in the camp in the middle of the forest was worth it ...
