Buchlov Castle

Buchlov Castle, one of the oldest royal castles in Moravia, built on the eastern spur of Chřibů, was built in the middle of the 13th century. The castle guarded the trade route leading from the valley of the Morava River to the west.

Vsetín castle

The Vsetín Castle stands on Horní náměstí. Originally a Renaissance castle from the beginning of the 17th century, it was rebuilt several times and in the first half of the 19th century it acquired its current classicist form. Vsetín castle is a storeyed, four-winged building with hexagonal corner towers.

Helfštýn Castle

On the southern edge of the Moravian Gate, on the crest of the hill, there is an extensive castle area, Helfštýn Castle, which dominates the entire area. The castle was founded at the end of the 13th century by the Silesian noble Friduš from Linava. Over the following centuries, the castle's fortifications were improved.

Šternberk Castle

The castle, on a long promontory at the foot of Nízké Jeseník, was founded in the middle of the 13th century by a member of an old Bohemian noble family, Zdeslav from Chlumec and from Šternberk. Šternberk Castle guarded the trade route to Poland.

Chateau Velké Losiny

The Losinské manor was acquired in 1496 by the Žerotín family and they owned it until the beginning of the 19th century. In the eighties of the 16th century, Jan of Žerotín began the reconstruction of the original fortress into a large Renaissance castle. The three wings of the two-story castle building form a U shape and have beautiful arcades with Tuscan columns.

Štramberk Castle

At the end of the 16th century, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance castle, and it was later structurally modified, first in the Baroque style, and later in the pseudo-Renaissance and pseudo-Baroque styles.
