Camping Schiffshotel

Our stay was simply a joy from start to finish. It is everything you would expect from a family business. Modern yet rustic, cozy yet spacious, the property is a testament to the years of love and hard work that went into making the dream a reality. The location is outside the city but very easily accessible by bus, train, metro and taxi. We were lucky enough to meet both husband and wife owners and their daughter, all of whom were lovely and genuinely warm people. We had breakfast on one day which, although simple (bread, cheese, home made jam, boiled eggs, fruit etc.) was good quality, lovingly prepared and excellent value for money. There was a huge crate of fallen apples from a nearby field that you could help yourself to and that the family used for cooking/canning. There was also a fridge full of quality sparkling beer, beer, wine and organic soft drinks, which operated on an honesty system. The room was light and airy and the attention to detail (again, simple) was just fabulous. Both my partner and I have extremely stressful jobs and we immediately felt relaxed and able to disconnect from the real world and just be present and in the moment. I can't recommend this place enough, it's an absolute hidden gem and completely undersold - in some ways I hope it stays that way.
