Bílá Opava - a breathtaking canyon with waterfalls
The Bílá Opava River has created a breathtaking canyon in its upper reaches. The stream rushes through the rocks, creating a wild scenery of waterfalls and roaring predatory waters. This corner of nature is one of the most beautiful that you can visit in Moravia and Silesia.
The ideal starting point for guests of Apartments U Trojice is a small parking lot on the road between Karlova Studánka and Vidly. The five-kilometer walk upwards along the yellow marker is technically demanding in places, several footbridges and larger stones have to be overcome. But it's nothing that an average hiker can't handle.
Barborka cottage is often the destination for visitors to the Bílá Opava valley. There they have something good to eat and return back by a gentle descent along the blue tourist trail to Karlova Studánka. The entire route can be completed in four hours without difficulty, and it is definitely better to leave earlier in the morning. You can park more easily and enjoy the route without large crowds.
Velká Kotlina - Follow the blue path to Grandpa's garden
For several months of the year, Velká Kotlina is hidden under meter-long drifts of snow. Every now and then an avalanche rolls through the cauldron. But when the snow disappears in the spring, this amazing place changes beyond recognition. The green of rhododendrons and grasses mix with the colors of rare flowers to create a breathtaking scenery.
If you are staying at Apartments U Trojice, you can go to Velká Kotlina from Karlov. The educational trail takes you along the upper course of the Moravice River together with the blue marker. The forest will gradually turn into a meadow and alpine meadows strewn with stones.
When you arrive under the largest Peter's stones at an altitude of 1446 meters, you can decide whether to refresh yourself at Ovčárná and then return the same way back. Or you turn onto the ridge of Vysoké hole and go down the red and green back to Karlovo. Either way, beautiful nature and an unforgettable experience await you.
