Today we visited another interesting place in Pilsen, the Sofronk Arboretum, which you can find in the Pilsen - Bolevec area. The Arboretum was founded in 1956 by Ing. Karel Kaňák, right after the task of breeding pine was advertised in what was then Czechoslovakia. However, the existing areas were not enough for this purpose, so the Sofronk Arboretum was founded.
In the Sofronk area you can currently find countless types of conifers. She captivated us the most Chuangshan pine, which is also a local specialty. In the area you can find several resting places and bee hives. Sofronk is open from 9.00:15.00 a.m. to 1:10.00 p.m. every day and every 16.00st Sunday of the month (March-October) from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. In the Sofronk Arboretum, you can also enjoy an excursion with an explanation Entrance to the area is free.

For kindergartens and elementary schools from Pilsen and the surrounding area, it is possible to arrange forest pedagogy at the Sofronk arboretum. They organize events for individual classes (up to 30 pupils) as part of the morning classes between 8.00 and 12.00, taking into account the age of the children. Arboretum workers have prepared special programs with different focus. As part of forest pedagogy, it is also possible to arrange a discussion about the life of bees with a local beekeeper, including a demonstration of the life of a bee colony in glass beehives.
