During your wanderings in Kokořínsk and Mšensk, you will pass a number of interesting rock formations in the forest that look like sculptural works left here by nature itself. Most of the rock towers are named by local residents and climbers, such as Pharaoh, Tutankhamun, Cleopatra and others, as most of the rocks are used by climbers for their sport. We will focus on one inseparable couple Giant head and Frog.
This natural sculpture is located on the well-known circular Cinibulkova trail, which intersects here with a blue tourist sign pointing to the even more famous Pokličky. We will get here following the mentioned blue sign which will lead us from the square in Mšen through the walking valley "Lesopark Debř" which was founded in 1915. Here we will find a monument to master Jan Hus which was built for the 500th anniversary of the burning of this preacher. Part of the park is a miniature of the ruins of Kokořín Castle. Here you will also find a rock flat and the remains of a natural theater, several benches and beautiful cottages (bird feeders and forest animals). There is also a well-known resting place near the giant Toadstool, where children can climb on the roots of a mature spruce.
We reach the destination via the Swedish Val, Průsekná skála. Giant Head and Frog are standing on a small rocky outcrop. The shapes of both rocks are very clearly visible only on the way from Mšen. The frog is seated on the right in this view, looking directly at a large giant head, which is facing the frog in profile and with a discernible eye, nose and mouth. There is also a nice view of the separate sandstone from which the sculpture was created due to natural influences. In the lower part, steps were carved here, by which it is possible to climb up to the formation. There are benches and rest areas ready for you, so that after resting you can continue on the blue path to Mšenská vovikky or on the local trail (psaníčka) through Faraona and the rock town back to Mšen.
