upper Maršov

Horni Marsov is a mountain resort in the Krkonoše Mountains, situated at the confluence of the Úpa River and the Lysecinský Stream. There are several restaurants, a wine shop, grocery stores, a doctor, a pharmacy, a post office, an ATM, a ski rental, snowboards and bikes, and ski service. Not far from Horni Marsov lies two really big, busy tourist resorts - Janske Lazne and Pec pod Snezkou. This is sure to be appreciated by everyone, whether passionate or accidental tourist, athlete and non-sportsman. Besides the Janske Lazne and Pec pod Snezkou, Marsov is surrounded by beautiful countryside. In the immediate vicinity there are numerous cross-country ski trails in the winter, which turn into cycling trails or walks during the summer.

There are plenty of interesting and popular traditional celebrations and events in Maršov. During the year, there will be several concerts and pilgrimages, carnival celebrations, Earth Day, Christmas excursions, and many more, popular events.

Anyone who is interested in history should not miss visiting the old church. There is a small cemetery around him. When it comes out there, at least for a minute, 400 should stop for years old lime trees. The square is also worth seeing. In addition to the shop there is a fountain finished with a statue of Justice and behind it the present town hall with a local library. From the square you can see the castle with the park. It has been here since 1792 and is now waiting for its new owner.

Horni Marsov is the starting point for the eastern part of the Giant Mountains, especially for the nearby Rýchory with rare flora, Svetla and Černá hora with the largest Giant Mountains peat bog. The village has a ski lift Třešňovka and a twenty-kilometer circuit with a modified cross-country skiing trail, cycling routes and a network of marked tourist trails. There is a stop for cyclobuses and skibuses. In the vicinity are the ski resorts: Horní Albeřice (5 km), Pec pod Sněžkou (8 km), Mala Upa (12 km), Velká Úpa (5 km), Černá hora (6 km), Pomezní Boudy (15 km).

Not far from Horni Marsov, the settlements of Dolní Lysečina, Dolní Albeřice, Horní Lysečiny and Horní Albeřice are situated. They are part of Upper Marshow.

If you head out of the square slightly uphill after a bit of asphalt but very bumpy road, you will soon reach the village of Dolní Lysečina. This is the gateway to the Krkonoše National Park. Mentions about it are already in the thirteenth century. That was when it was very dull. From Albeřice and Lysec, Dolní Lysečiny are the most populous. Throughout the valley, most typical mountain chalets are scattered. You can easily recognize them by small windows and white-painted stripes between the darker wooden paneling, shining far to the edge. Most of them now serve as a holiday cottage, guest house or restaurant. Only some of them live locally. At the end of Dolní Lyseč, we have two possibilities, either we can go right to Horní Lysečany along Lysečinský brook or to the left towards Dolní and then Horní Albeřice.

Once you enter Upper Lysec, you feel like you can hide from all the problems and worries of the city. Sprawling pastures, a minimal amount of huts, and absolute peace of mind, which will only ruin you in the summer with a creeping brook or beef cattle. After the asphalt and finally only the paved road you climb up and you will reach the Lysečská bouda, which lies at the very end of Horní Lysečin and Horní Albeřice.

If you turn right at the end of Dolní Lyseč u Zvonička, you will take a short drive to Dolní Albeřice. In the Dolní Albeřice valley, as in Dolní Lysečiny, the area is denser, and it is again typical of mountain ranges. The path and the brook lined the beautiful vast pastures, destined for cattle.

Two years ago, 57 was permanently occupied. Lower Albeřice is also the name for the cadastral territory of 3,18 km2. There is also a ski lift, which is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. Ideal for families with small children. It is located at an elevated height of 700-760 meters above sea level. Thanks to this location, the ski slope is beautifully white throughout the winter.

At the end of the settlement stands the buffet, probably the original fire brigade. She can sit well in her former fire brigade. Drinks are said to be in the basket on the pulley.

In the time of our prababiček, here was the limestone. Nowadays rare plants grow in these quarries and animals are endangered. These quarries were declared a protected natural monument. There are also caves here. For example, 100 meters long Hornoalbeřice Cave. Mr. Krakonos has his own cave.

Krakonoš's cave is about 50 meters long. When you look closely, you will find an old kiln in Lysečinská bouda, where lime is produced or calcium oxide added to the mortar.

Excursions around

The rapids stop above Horní Maršov as the easternmost point of the Giant Mountains. Dvorský Forest, also called Rýchorský prales, is a very valuable area, which belongs to the 1st and 2nd. KRNAP zones. You can find here the truncated trunks of old beeches, the Rýchorská studánka, the Rychorská květnice, the Lysečinské valley or the karst Albeřice caves. Among the herbs can be found garlic snake and bear, alpine pods and other rare plants. Since 1997, there is a trail called Rýchory. A remarkable building on the ridge is the Rýchorská bouda with a buffet and a view of Maxovka, which soon will be a lookout tower overlooking the whole eastern Giant Mountains.

Originally a romantic castle built over the Dark Dome, as a memorial to Count Berthold behind Aichelburg in 1861. After 1883, when Countess Marsov bought Countess Aloisie Czernin-Morzin, the castle began to deteriorate and in 1945 was almost forgotten. Thanks to the Castle Company Aichelburg, which was founded in 1995, the castle was restored and made public in 2000. The Aichelburg Walking Route leads from the Upper Marsh, in the Dark Dome there is a Merry Trip around the Information Center, where guests can borrow the keys and open the castle hall with the entrance to the stone tower.

The route passes through Horní Maršov, the Dark Valley, the slopes of the Light Mountains through the Velké Tippeltovy boudy, Valšovka and Hlušina to Velká Úpa. At 11 kilometers, there are twenty-seven sites marked with four-language information panels. The route connects a number of monuments such as the Maršov Chateau, the Linen Wreath, the Cross Way, the Information Center and the Merry Trip Gallery, the Dix Wood Quarry, the 1778 Battle Site, and then it rises to the Aichelburg Forest.

Honzův brook in Temný Dole is a settlement today with nine houses, founded by timbermen invited to the felling of the Krkonoše forest in 16. century from the Alpine lands of the Austrian monarchy. The rapidly flowing stream of Honza formed the border between Marsov and the Imperial property. Only in the 1769 mountain forests of the eastern Krkonoše and the municipalities of Velká and Malá Úpa joined the estate of Josef Vilibald Schaffgotsch. The Honza Stream with the road then remained only the border between Horní Maršov and Temný Dole, which reminds of a unique line of mighty trees. Through the settlement of Honzův Potok, 2009 has been running a desirable trail to the Aichelburg forest fortress since summer.

From the former customs office from 1844 in Horní Albeřice, the customs route with a renewed alley leads to the tourist border crossing into the Polish village of Niedamirów. Just a few steps away from the border, a restored cultural monument is situated on the site with a beautiful view of Sněžka, a pillar of God's glory with a chalice symbol. Near the customs you can see the largest Bischof quarry that supplies limestone and preserved circular limestone along the main road. At the Bischof Quarry, a limestone kiln from 19 was built on the stone tower. century Museum Vapenka as a wooden superstructure created by traditional carpentry procedures, using a unique measurement of the medieval method of modular circles. Hundreds of photographs and pictures link the four-language text that develops the Story of Albeřice and Lysečin. Children entertain interactive games. Museum keys are borrowed from the Museum in the Fairy Tale in the Information Center.

On the hillside of the Old Mountain there is a set of folk architecture in the settlement of the same name, and there is a crossing of the Cross. The crossroad has fourteen stone stops along 680 meters long and sharply growing forest paths. Since 2001, the passion story of Jesus Christ depicts the colorful enamel images of artist Aleš Lamr. All stone chapels from 1876 were hundred years later unfolded on a steep slope and original paintings on the sheet were destroyed. The stone parts were assembled in 1985. The crossing passes around the restored chapel of St. Anna, founded already in 1752. On your way, you will find a well that has a healing effect. In the years 1999 to 2001, local people and friends of the gallery and the infocentre of Merry Trip fixed the wooden cross, the individual stops of the Cross, the chapel of St. Anna and her own way. Every year, the Cross Way takes place on Sunday before Anne 26. July procession ended with worship in the chapel.

The Red Cross on the Long Ridge stands at least from 18. century on the imaginary interface of four formerly separate municipalities. In the Dark Dole, Lysečiny, Malé and Velké Úpě horalé told four different stories about its foundation, they are described on the information panel. There are several routes on foot, cycling and skiing, one of the most beautiful mountain walks of Krkonoše Emmina cesta. In Staré Hora it follows the cross route and continues to Lysice and Malá Úpa.

The peak of Snezka (1602 m) has attracted pilgrims for over five hundred years. Its naming is derived from the snowy snow-covered name.

Several buildings were built at the top of Mount Snezka - the Polish Shed with the Meteorological Station, the final station of the cable car from Pece pod Sněžkou, the stone trigonometric obelisk and the 14 m high rotund chapel of St. Vavřince, which was built in 1681 and is the oldest object on the top of Sněžka. On the contrary, the newest building is the Czech post office Anežka, designed by architects Martin Rajniš and Patrik Hoffman.

Sněžka is reminded of its shape with a triangular pyramid, where the sharp northern slope falls on the Polish side, the western ridge on the top of the Úpske peat and the southern slope to the Giant Mine. It crosses the Czech-Polish state border and you can find here a unique alpine landscape that is not similar in Central Europe.

The peak of Snezka can be reached by many routes from different directions.
