As I mentioned last time, it was enough for my friend Stacy to walk through the courtyard of the ruins of Pravda Castle and get another baked idea. To my great misfortune… She remembered the young days when our "depe" friends, black-dressed rock fans of Depeche Mode, went to the Čáčr every summer to Macháč, where they hardened, listened to their favorite music and mainly slept for a few nights under a canopy. But the girls didn't take us with them, so we could never try what it's like to sleep under the stars. And now Stacy has decided to change that. The fact is that the weather forecast was quite favorable, the night was supposed to be almost tropical, so I didn't have many arguments to convince my friend that it would be better to leave it for another time. Stacy was adamant, so we returned home and went packing everything we needed for the evening. The husband tapped his forehead several times, but refrained from commenting out loud.

So we both packed a sleeping bag, a mat, something warm for ourselves and for ourselves, and something to eat to survive in the wilderness until the next day. I know that the boys have always put a lot of emphasis on having a tent with them. Probably against dew or rain, but unfortunately we didn't have it here, so we assumed that the mats would do us a good service.

And shortly before seven in the evening we set off, for the second time that day, to the top of the Pravda ruins. This time, however, we missed the steep path, because we were quite well loaded with everything we took with us as absolutely necessary things. We took a detour through the Devil's Stone, which I wrote about recently, and then through Kamenový úvoz. The entrance is lined with sandstone stones carved with reliefs, which depict mainly faces and figural motifs. Historical sources show that the historian Roedl puts their origin at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; Hard to tell where the truth is.

So this way we got to the spacious courtyard of Truth again. Because we weren't alone on the spot yet, there were two large families on the trip, so we settled in the grass and pulled something small to eat to strengthen ourselves, look around and choose the best place to sleep. When we were finally alone in the courtyard, we moved we went from place to place about three or four times before we chose the right space where we spread out our mats and unpacked our sleeping bags. We thought for a while that we would start a fire, which we eventually rejected because it was really dry and hot. So we were afraid we wouldn't be arsonists after all. So far we were laughing, which changed when it got dark quickly, the first stars appeared in the sky and all of a sudden everything around us seemed too dark and scary. So we quickly slipped into our sleeping bags, crawled into them up to our heads and pressed close together. Plus, the weird sounds all around, the creaking, the crackling of twigs, the honking of an owl, it was all really awful.

We haven't slept even at midnight. Well, when we finally took over and didn't know about the world around us, we still didn't have peace for a long time. We were awakened by a loud thunder and then by thick ropes of rain that began to fall on us. We grabbed sleeping bags, mats and backpacks and headed for the entrance to the underground cellar, where we slid. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but it wasn't raining there and we weren't afraid of lightning that could hit us in the courtyard.

Unfortunately for us, it rained for more than an hour, so when we climbed out of the underground during dawn, we were as dirty as we had not been for a long time. It was after four in the morning when we packed our backpacks and were infamously returning from our night in the open. But Stacy wasn't disappointed in the slightest. She was satisfied that she had tried it at least once in her life. And I actually do after all :-).
